So, with Little Mac's ascendance to playable character from an assist trophy, I expect at least 3 more newcomers to follow suit:

Thanks for the candor, jackhole. Maybe when I need a fortune teller I'll ring you up again. Sakurai and the crew don't seem to want to drop anyone, so it's a safe bet. Lucario was originally promotional (the most hyped Pokemon of Generation 4), and 3rd party support is still present with the return of Sonic and the introduction of Mega Man. Who'd even be surprised if Ike returned as a veteran at this point? The possibility is still there, so what's the harm in believing? The absolute worst that can happen is that no Konami characters make it to Smash. And boy, would that be the end of my little world. So far, the speculation is coming true:
Pac-Man, Little Mac, Mii, WFT, Villager, and Megaman
So, this is old news, but someone had leaked WFT, Megaman, and Villager before the announcement. They also had Little Mac, Mii, and Pac-Man.
With LM confirmed, all we can do is wait to see if Pac-Man or the Mii makes it in.

Why would he add Meowth? Because there's one in the show? (Which can't even use Pay Day, it's signature move, and the move it uses IN the smash universe if you get it from a pokeball.) No, no Meowth. I'm still hoping on Lyn getting *promoted* from assist to playable. She was the main character for the first half of the first FE game released in the US. I think that at least gives her a chance.
