I don't think so. He just struggles against sword characters somewhat, due to their longer range.

That's why you have the Falcon Punch at your side bro.

Just run and jump around to avoid set-ups, and punish his reckless approaches with well spaced aerials.

He struggles against multi-hitting attacks at well. If he try to challenge them with his aerials, he'll get hit before he can hit them. And many multi-hit aerials combo into themselves. Zelda's and Black Mage's Neutral-air eat him alive as Falcon is quite a big target. They can dictate most of the close-range aspect of the match-up.

That's why you have to plan your head-on attacks. Though some attacks are a bother, like DK's uspecial.

Falcon isn't the super pressure-combo-house he used to be, he plays more like Melee now and revolves out-manuvering your opponent more.

I generally abstain from using THE FALCON in online play unless the connection is pristine. His execution requirement is pretty unforgiving when playing with delay.

Does anyone else feel like Falcon's stomp (dair) needs more hitstun? I haven't played him in melee myself, but I've been watching a lot of Scar's matches on youtube and he seems to land a stomp at 80%, wait a split second to see the trajectory, and then follow up and get the knee. In SSF2 it seems like opponents are always able to jump away from the knee unless they don't DI.
An example of scar hitting a knee like this is at 2:30 in this game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEdU0e48Yes#t=2m30s

I don't think so. While SSF4 in-general doesn't have as much as Melee, Stomp has a enough hitstun where you could wait an instant, and then jump Knee. Stomp into Falken Pawnch on Falcon and Fox at 80% still possible as well.

I think dair is more of a tech chasing move now.

Currently Playing: Complacency breeds weakness. My opponents won't stop getting stronger, neither will I.

Well, in Melee what happens when someone gets meteored on the ground is it acts like a stage spike. All of the hitstun, 50% of the knockback. I do not know how SSF2 determines the hitstun of Falcon's dair. Also there are more fastfallers in Melee than SSF2 so they don't fly as far making it easier to combo.

Im not entirely sure, but hitstun and knockback are proportional to each other.
