I'd say it's fine to do Sonic characters, as long as they arent *shivers* fan-characters.... There is literally nothing to gain from fan-characters, unless the sole purpose of them is that the person making them is trying to become a better spriter. Even then, it's still pretty horrid.

I suppose, but its become so hated among the spriter community that I would just rather just stay away from them. When I left MG back in my freshman year, I migrated over to The Spriter's Resource. They are harsh, but they have helped me learn a lot about spriting then anyone could have hoped. Its become much less of a hobby and more of an art. I hope to bring some of the knowledge they passed on with me to the new spriters here.
