That means you're bad with the inputs then. Most off the Ryu's I've seen have no problems with the inputs and are able to his ex versions no problem.

jeez. i can do them just fine, thank you, but it's still slightly awkward. especially when you're rushing in the battle.

Why do you always got to be so mean you act like everyone but yourself are noobs.

Practice. I've been spending the last 3 days in training mode with Ryu's commands. Unless you've been playing street fighter for years then you're not gonna be able to pull them off right off the bat. Dashing forward isn't an issue with the input, you have to keep that in mind that sometimes you will dash forward. Keep that in mind with the amount of spacing you need to be able to collide with the opponent. If you think you'll dash forward, stand a bit back before you perform the move. You have to think about every possibility at all times.

the fact is that it's still awkward. street fighter isn't the only game that has the inputs, in fact i have hardly ever touched street fighter in my life. this is a different ballgame.

while i can account that i might need to space myself, sometimes you simply do not have enough time to space yourself. this isn't melee, i can't wavedash into a shoryuken. not to mention that "sometimes" is an inconsistency. i can either space myself and hope i dash or i can not space myself and hope i don't dash. in other fighters, it's not an issue since most require you to double tap in order to dash. this, however, just requires one quick tap.

plus as qb said earlier, it's on a stick which in itself makes it awkward

Not you I am meant yoh.

Another problem I have with Ryu is that he has no approaching options that I am the best with. Most of the time when I do his airs I just get shield grabbed.:(

This pretty much, you should be getting shield grabbed at all as Ryu unless you plain just bum rush everyone you see. Fair is safe on shields if you space it I mean his foot is pretty much like a sword.
