Guess who's celebrating Metroid's 30th anniversary in style? Here's a hint: it's not Nintendo.
In more positive news, AM2R has been released today for free. A complete remake of Metroid 2 for the Game Boy, with a homemade game engine and tons of new features. _________________

as much as i'm proud of the guy for making this and happy to see some love for metroid. this remake is gonna get taken down likely. because it's a free remake of a game that Nintendo is still selling.

Nintendo had it's chance to take it down before the full version if they wanted to, guy's been making it for a while and dropping demos. I'm sure they were aware, and they do have legal grounds to do it. Not even weird "sorta gray but you can't afford to argue it so it doesn't matter" grounds, actual grounds.

Whoa I played the AM2R Demo a long time ago. Might as well play the whole thing. REALLY GREAT GAME GUYS! You should definitely play it.

That's a damn shame. Sega actually hired ROMhackwrs to make Sonic Mania and apparently they're actually distributing hacks and mods of the Genesis games through Steam Workshop. Sega loves what Nintendon't. _________________  |
