Well, the leaks have been doing a pretty piss-poor job of showing how these characters actually play.

You only need to play 120 matches to unlock all of the characters.

While the article never specified if online matches counted, it looks like you only need to play 10 matches to unlock each of the 12 characters. No word on the special unlock conditions or if the match count is the same for both versions (I'll assume it is) yet.

I like 120 matches too. Not long enough to feel tedious but not disappointingly short either. Even numbers, too.

I wouldn't mind having them all unlocked on Wii U. I plan to get the game for both systems, so it'd be nice not having to unlock them twice.

I think a better solution would be having the WiiU version check your 3DS (if thats possible) for save data, and unlock the characters that way. Because Im sure there will be people that arent getting both versions. If they get only the WiiU version there will be complaints if the entire roster is already unlocked. Having it this way should please everyone (mostly)

^ That would also give an option to people who don't mind unlocking everyone twice.
