Who are your character predictions/hopes?

Well so far sans (Ness clone), Celica (Robin clone), Lianna (Lucina clone), Builder Mario (Dr. Mario clone), Pseudo Palutena (Palutena clone), Baby Rosalina (Rosalina and Luma clone) and Pyra/Mythra who you can SWITCH (hurr) between are confirmed, dunno about anyone else.

Sarcasm aside, I'm hoping for a 100% decloned Wolf to return, Waluigi, Sceptile to complete different gen final evo starters (And pure Grass character would be cool.) and Tails like SSF2.

Wolf is neither a clone nor a semi clone. Literally the only thing he borrows from Fox are his getup animations and final smash.

And before you say specials, they're pretty wildly different.

Hence 100% so that Sakurai doesn't have an excuse to keep him out. (Besides the fact that he's not a waifu or Fire Emblem character)

tbh I don't see much point in bringing back Wolf if he were to be changed significantly. At that point you may as well just make a new character.

Star Fox could use a rep. Wolf appeared in Star Fox Zero more recently than say Krystal so he's good to go.

Why? I think two is quite enough for a less major franchise like Star Fox.

Before I saw the 2018 release date, I thought we'd definitely get a gen 8 Pokemon, but seeing as Smash Switch might come out before Pokemon gen 8, I'm not as sure anymore.

As for my speculation,
I'm hoping for the WAA.

Wolf and Snake better come back or I will go absolutely berserk

As for newcomers, Simon Belmont and Waluigi would be f*** sick, though like Term said any good character would excite me

A classic Final Fantasy rep would be nice. We already have Black Mage in our game so why not Fighter (Dissidia elements could be added) or something? And if not FF1, we could have Cecil or Terra.

y'all gonna be super disappointed when it's just a port of 4 with one or two new characters lmao

how about they actually add some good singleplayer modes before bothering with any new characters. honestly, f*** this game if they don't even bring back break the targets, let alone adventure mode

Pretty wild suggestion, but I have an alternative idea for a new Fire Emblem character.

Berkut from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.

Why? Well there's a fair number of reasons:

1. Berkut is a villain. Whilst there is probably a more obvious choice for a villain in the form of the Black Knight and maybe if you count it Robin because he's technically Grima, a Fire Emblem Echoes rep looks increasingly likely and a villain would really add to a series that's sorely lacking in any real antagonists. It's telling when other major series like Kirby, Zelda, Mario and even minor ones like Kid Icarus and (at one point) StarFox got villains and Fire Emblem hasn't.

2. Berkut wields a spear and rides a horse. Smash 4 did up the diversity with Robin utilising various spells from the series and Corrin utilising his specific Manakete abilities, however, as far as diversity among fighting styles go, there isn't many. Among the other Fire Emblem representatives from Echoes that are likely to be added, Alm will likely be shelved for similar reasons to Chrom in that he brings nothing majorly unique to the table, and whilst Celica might be a much more likely pick for the roster, if Robin comes back she probably won't bring anything spectacularly unique to the table that Robin may not already bring. Berkut on the other hand is a Cavalier, which adds more moveset potential.

3. Berkut was created specifically for Fire Emblem Echoes. I know full well that Echoes was a remake of Gaiden and that there were other characters created for Fire Emblem Echoes like Conrad, Fernand and Faye, but Berkut is probably the most notable story-relevant character, he was one of the most well received villains of that game and would be a pretty good fit for the game. Not to mention we'd be able to hear Ian Sinclair's amazing voice acting again.

It's an idea, and if things from Heroes such as the magic resistance on his lance and the Kreimhild from Echoes or even Witch Rinea in his moveset, then Berkut could probably be one of the more interesting characters in the series.


Also, bring back Wolf and keep Robin pls
