Hello, I am LOL0L0LOL. I am spriting for a very special project. I am wondering, what sprite size is used for the characters on SSF2? (Pixel by pixel)

I'd like to keep detail, but I can see how reducing size of and using something like a nearest neighbor quality filter to fit to a computer size is more reasonable. Like resolution can slow down lower end computers.. I.E Super Smash Bros. Crusade .... So... I really need to know the pixel by pixel gauge.. Thank you :).

If you're wondering  Image

What sort of project are you working on? Certain types of games (like fighting games) usually use larger sprites. There isn't really a set size for 'the avarage sprite', since it depends on the sprite style you use and what you feel comfortable with.

Normally sprites are made within canvases progressing by a multiple of 16, so for example:

16x16
32x32
64x64
128x128
256x256

etc.

I recommend starting with 32x32 or 64x64.
