I'm back with another Smash Island event, to be held on Saturday, October 24th, at 15:00 EDT. Since I know that many of you on here are too lazy to look at the rules on Challonge, I have opted to omit them from this post to force you to go read the full ruleset. In any case, due to the recent passing of Monte, I've decided to modify this month's ruleset to play like the 209 tournaments. The most obvious change is to the stage list. The number of stages has been cut back to 5 starters and 4 counterpicks, and Final Destination/3DS has switched places with Tower of Salvation. Also, all of the top 8 games will be best of 5, instead of just the finals. I've also made some other tweaks to the rules to deal with certain problematic scenarios that have cropped up in the past.
