Empyrian empties,
On our woeful malaise,
Engulfs and entwines our impious parade.
These are the embers,
The fetid ideal,
The end of our chastity,
Allow us to feel.
Nerves remain tender,
To touch makes us cry.
We see through these windows now become eyes.
Our burden is heavy,
As we ascend.
Like blemished flesh,
The earth seems to rent.
Pustules of faces,
Mouths like crevasse,
Our weathered coherence lost to morass.

@ scott is circa survive being an actually fantastic band an acceptable opinion still or are we just overdue emo kids? asking because juturna still makes my tummy tingle

posting from mobile so i can't be arsed to make a new chart but i'll subject you all to my garbage taste via this metal chart because 1. i'm a piece of s*** and 2. this board deserves to be more active

probably the latter but who gives a s***. juturna used to be my favourite (i own a juturna shirt) but lately On Letting Go has been doing it for me, even though it's considered their "boring" album

f*** mega bump

topsters is back online and this time, for some reason, they're doing top 42 albums or top 100 albums, not top 50.
but here's the link.

how have you guys' music tastes developed? after looking at my old one I feel like only a third of the albums I liked on my last post, 4 years ago, are on this new list.

btw everfor - sometimes 222 is obscure taiwanese indie music with like 2000 plays, a friend of mine showed it to me. link

Pinkerton is a f*** classic. Mars Volta are great too. I was really into that Chance the Rapper album and I see it get a lot of unwarranted hate now, maybe overplayed? Flower Boy is easily the peak of Tyler's career and I can't wait to see him in a month (with Vince Staples). That Avalanches album and the Neutral Milk Hotel one are both pretty good.

I mean I don't listen to radio so I wouldn't know if Chance is being overplayed, but that album f*** defined my summer, listened to it so many times.

interesting that you have Pink Floyd's The Wall up there and not Dark Side of the Moon, do you really think The Wall is better? Like I haven't given a really good listen to either, just heard bits and pieces throughout my life, but I have Dark Side of the Moon in my music queue.

idk how to structure or organize these kinds of things especially now that i am no longer in my "must consume the most esoteric pop culture i can find" phase

no western classical even though that is like 90% of what i've been really into lately cuz i rarely have recording preferences (apart from avoiding obviously poor ones). getting real into old dead academic white guy music was probably the best thing that happened to my taste. the worst thing was getting into everything else (xcept 4 my first love... techno)

i don't have any recs for anyone in particular but i think everyone here would like the "paper chase" album i have listed here

I'm gonna give Neptune's Lair a listen, surprising to me that that tops Leaves Turn Inside You, knowing how your taste was

will definitely do, been looking for some new lukecore albums, clark seems very much your style haha
have you listened to DJ Shadow - Endtroducing? listened to it recently and thought "yeah luke would like this". he was one of the first (if not the very first) trip-hop producers.
