Earthbound was a series that I've always wanted to get into. Could you enlighten me as to why I should play these games?

My absolute favorite series.




Its the most charming series out there. It'l make you laugh, it'l make you cry....a lot. Mother 3 made me cry more than any game I've ever played (if I've ever cried at another game before). It also has a very creepy vibe to it... *shivers at thought of giygas*


The games are just really great, I think you specifically would really enjoy them.

I'll be honest, the gameplay is not the most amazing thing you'll ever experience (although Mother 3's combat system was f*** cool).
It's still one of my favourite series' though. The humor, the characters, the story, the sound effects, the music. It's just fun. Even though Mother 3 is miles better than Earthbound, I still recommend you play Earthbound first. You don't need to play Mother 1 though, it's really not necessary at all.

I have only made it to Chapter 2 in Mother 3 so far. I'm not a fan of the Battle System but the story is interesting. You'll get a few laughs by playing it too.

come on the battle system is so fun and way unique in mother 3, the rhythm beat system i mean.

and yea, Mother 3 > Earthbound, but it should be better, right? They took what was wrong with earthbound and fixed it.

Meh...I'm only on chapter 2... I'm going to play it now lol.

Earthbound battles were p generic rpg stuff (though it had some cool twists later on in the game, like the enemies line-based positioning system).
But yeah Mother 3 had a really fun system.

I was tempted to play the game for myself until I figured out the plot.

The story and music are amazing in Earthbound.

The gameplay was pretty generic though, and didn't take long before it bored me.

just started playing mother 3 today the translated version so far i have to say the story is really just sad i see why Lucas is
just so depressed

really? Lucas & Claus' mom and Flint's wife die, and you go and get revenge on the thing that killed it to find you don't have it in you, Claus ran away to get revenge on the creature also, but you don't know what happened to him. It shows him defeated on the ground. I'd call all that content pretty interesting for the intro chapter.
