Ahahahahahahahah
I'm really sorry, I honestly did laugh a bit out loud at that post.
These days if Cleod mentions a month or bolds something, it's a hint to when SSF2 will come out.

One simple question: When, most likely, the first contest will be done?

I'm going to prepare something music related for February ;)

Does that have anything to do with SSF2? :shifty:

Relax, all I have to do is set up the contest, while you guys work on entries I'll be working on SSF2

Hmm.... Let's see...

Flash Animations - Like It!
Stories - Really Like It!
Music Comp. - My computer won't allow it
Comics - Like it! Mostly sprites, cause I am horrible artist  :|
Smiley Comp. - Has potential! And I like the prize idea!
Sig comp. - Maybe... :shifty:
Game Design - Like it! But... I'm horrible at flash... does it HAVE to be a Flash game?
What about BYOND or Game Maker or something? I know you can play Game Maker games without having to download anything but the game, and you only need to get BYOND to play a BYOND game, which isnt hard I'm sure. It's a really small file.
Light stuff on fire - LUV IT!!!!

Wait... that wasnt one of em... DANG!

Anyway, something about the stories... couldn't someone put something on here they already made as an easy entry? Or even worse, copy and paste something that isn't even their work?

Oh and I stopped looking for those Inuyasha Sprites. I can't find any good ones at all and besides, maybe it's just a bit too late?

So... new ideas...

...

...... Wow a lot have already been said...

......

...

Web Design? (Possibly Fansite)
Uh...
SSF2 Fanstory? Something to do with the characters of SSF2 in a story of our own. I know you said not much for SSF2 yet but I found a lot of ideas for it.
SSF2 Fanimation
Guess that Sprite? Make a sprite all black and see if someone can guess it.
I came up with others but I can't remember 'em cause I started typing an hour ago and had stuff to do >.>

I'll remember eventually XD

For most contests I'll need to set it up in a way to prevent people submitting old work they've already done. Like them music competition for example, I would set it up like the competition on NG so that there is already a given melody you have to work with. For games, sure I'll allow games made by means other than Flash, but I'll likely need to have at least two different categories for winners if there turns out to be some more experienced coders entered in the contest. And I'd probably set up a theme you have to follow so that you can't cheat.

And I like the SSF2 Fanimation idea, it would be a blast watching all the entries. Though something like "Guess that Sprite" sounds way too simple for a real contest.

"Guess that sprite/character"
Could be used for filler contests, or have that contest alongside another one, just in case people don't like the current contest they can participate in this one.

Kinda what I was thinking of. Not like any major competition but just something to do for fun. If there were any prizes it would be something small, temporary, or both.

That may help, but wouldn't people be able to still copy and paste on something of sort of the same subject, and maybe just paraphrase it or just change the characters?

I don't think the prizes for something like that should be very elaborate, seems like it could be too easy.

Hey, when it comes to game making it's impossible to tell if old code was re-used most of the time so I could let it slide as long as it fits the theme and they still put serious work into it.

Well, maybe no need for prizes for those contests? Or perhaps graphical prizes such as sigs or avi's.

Actually, I was referring to Story making.

P.S. I'm not trying to cause any troubles or argue with you, I'm just looking at an issue that has happened countless times on other sites. If you'd like me to stop say so and I will ^^

It's easy to tell when someone reused a part of a story. Suddenly improved/worsened grammar and spelling, different sentence structure, it's not hard to spot if one moment someone is writing like a 13 year old harry potter fangirl, and the next writes like Oscar Wilde.

Eh, good point. If they were good enough to disguise their writing they'd probably be good enough not to need to.

Probably no prize, graphics are too easy to distribute so they wouldn't be as good IMO.

That's always an option (Though I wonder where this whole "MLG" thing came from instead of MG, probably ZI's fault  )

Oh I see, ugh, I hope that wouldn't become a problem if we have writing contests. Then I'll really have to get specific with the rules and guidelines.

To me the problem lies with people reusing older work and adapting it to whatever theme is set. But I'd like to hope most people would be into it enough to not do that.
