not really. the physics felt a little similar. Its just that it failed at nostalgia and level design and it feels nothing like the genesis sonic games. Its okay for some but it fails to some of the biggest sonic fans

and i agree. The homing attack felt like an unneeded addition to the classic sonic franchise

I liked it in Generations though. It was a neat little extra.

Personally i felt that Generations had wayyy too many bottomless pits. I mean, that and the fact that they dont warn you soon enough when they are coming.

Well then what are the signs for, they dont put them in all the right places, sometimes i didnt even see them until i already fell in. I know, dont argue the excuse that the classic games didnt even have signs, but what the hell are they in Generations for if they arent gonna use em right?

Before your so called "Next-Generation" crud you played nowadays, Sonic the hedgehog was a great genesis title that pretty much said "Here. This is how platform games work". It became more popular than Super Mario brothers at its release because it was fast, fun, simple, and teached you the game and its design without needing a freaking manual... Like most games back in the days.

Ignore them. Sonic the hedgehog is all about its level design and how you need to approach it. Sure that its confusing as hell to see signs from everywhere and fall down without any warnings but its really easy once you get past the first era of the game

They really did put a lot of detail into those levels, i mean there were times where i wasnt even aware of the difference between the background and foreground. I didnt know what i was allowed to stand on.

Oh also there are really bad bugs in the PS3 version, caused me to die quite a few times.

And whats with the enemies standing right where you need to jump to  its not like they give you much room to get up there without getting hit by them, and they are too high up to jump on.

Well basically, some parts of the stage, you were supposed to run in a direction (where the level turns from 2D to 3D and vice versa) but sonic stays on the 2D/3D plane, when switching sometimes, which can cause you to die
