Here is who I personally think will make the roster in SSF2 v1.0.

Snake-Shadow Moses Island is in the game, which I think is a possible hint at him getting in the game.
PAC-MAN-Even though he is an Assist Trophy in this game, it is possible they could convert him into a Playable Character and make Ms. PAC-MAN as the Assist Trophy. Plus he was leaked earlier this year at APEX, and I actually believe that leak.
Ike-Need I say more?
Duck Hunt Dog-SSF2 has some obscure characters in the game, which is a good thing because the Devs can get creative with the movesets. Also, Duck Hunt Dog was in SSB4, which could boost his chances at joining the roster, plus he is one of my mains in SSB4 too.
Shadow-Heavily requested and he is Sonic's rival.
Pit-Unique Brawl veteran and plus Skyworld was leaked, so it is possible.
Monkey D. Luffy-Let's face it you guys, Luffy is getting in because A.)He is heavily requested by fans. B.)Goku, Naruto, and Ichigo are in the game, which is basically a possible hint that Luffy is getting in SSF2 v1.0.
Knuckles-Sky Sanctuary Zone is in the game, so that is a possible hint at something.
Mewtwo-Need I say more?
Cloud Strife-Black Mage is in the game, so it is possible that Cloud is an unlockable character in this game. Plus, he was a really good character in SSF1, so he could make a return.
King Dedede-Kirby and Meta Knight are in the game, plus we need more villains on the roster.
Lucas-He was popular in Brawl, and he was heavily requested to return in SSB4 as DLC.
Geno-He only made two appearances in Mario games, so I think he will be an Assist Trophy, but you never know.
Lip-It would make sense for the Devs to add somebody who is obscure and lesser-known by fans, but would have so much potential for a creative moveset. If I think somebody should go in, it should be Lip.
Falco-Fox needs his sidekick, so need I really say more?
Rayman-I think the Devs could add him in because of his popularity.
Ice Climbers-Somebody mentioned their stage was leaked a while back, so it could be possible.
Ganondorf-Need I say more?
Andy-He could represent the GBA days of Nintendo along with Isaac.
Lucario-As long as Mewtwo gets in first. Plus it would be awesome to see these two battle it out in this game.
Young Link-When Majora's Mask 3D came out earlier this year, that got me thinking that Young Link was going to be added back into the roster using his Majora's Mask moveset. Plus, he would be a great replacement for Toon Link.
Simon Belmont-Two words: Dracula's Castle. That is a strong hint indicating that he may be on the way.

Diddy Kong-Donkey Kong needs his sidekick in the game, so need I say more?
R.O.B.-Unique Brawl veteran and plus he is a very cool character to play as in SSB4.
Chrono Trigger-I do not know about him returning sadly because I liked him in SSF1.
Olimar-Distant Planet is in here.
Zero-He was in SSF1, so I think he still has a shot.
Little Mac-He was heavily requested for SSB4, and he got in, so maybe the Devs picked up the support for him.
Zoroark-How about the Devs adding in a Pokemon exclusively for SSF2? If so, Zoroark could be a great character to add.
King K. Rool-Gangplank Galleon is in there, so that is a strong hint that he may be coming in.
Ryu-He entered SSB4 as DLC, so maybe the Devs might have picked up on that.
Banjo-Kazooie-The Devs could add a mascot from the N64 days and he would be the perfect choice.
Paper Mario-Paper Mario was a very heavily requested character of mine in SSB4, and I always thought he had so much potential for a fantastic moveset that could involve his paper attacks instead of being a clone of Mario like Dr. Mario (even though I like him).
Wolf-We'll see. If it comes down to him and Falco, it will most likely be Falco.
Bowser Jr.-He is in SSB4, plus he should get in before Geno, Rosalina (even though she seems more likely at this point), Waluigi, Toad, and Petey Piranha.
Ashley-I don't think she will get in, but with the talented Devs planning out an awesome roster, she's possible, plus Wario is in too.
Shulk-This could be a tricky one. Even though he came in SSB4, the SSF2 roster was was finalized in either January or February 2013, and Xenoblade Chronicles came out in 2010, although I don't know when the roster change started so I guess he has a shot.
Roy-If there is going to be a third rep from Fire Emblem, Roy is going to be that man. ROY'S OUR BOY!!!
Skull Kid-We NEED another Zelda rep who is a Newcomer. If so, Skull Kid is the man! Clock Town is in the game, so that could be a possible hint that he might be going in the game.

Those are my speculations. I know all of them will not be going in at once, but those are who I think will be joining SSF2 soon.

I sure hope roy gets in, while i never liked a single FE character in smash until 4, roy is the only one i remotely enjoy playing, idk why though.

Wait... Geno was in Superstar Saga? I played through the game not too long back, and I never saw him there. Am I that blind?


Back to topic, speculating Ice Climbers, the Brawl veterans (im not too much a fan of Smash4s roster), Rundas, The Hero of Legend Link/Classic Link, Pit, another FE character, at least to more Mario and Pokémon reps and two surprise characters.

Which two surprise characters are you speculating?

Something like WFT, Duck Hunt Dog or Chibi... A character noone would ever expect in their life. SO telling who those might be seems a bit pointless to me... It could be friggin Goombario (ok, unrealistic, but you get the point).

Honestly in terms of FE characters I hope Roy gets in...but not before Lyn. With Lyn possibly being a unique character with her own fighting style and specials. Whereas Roy would undoubtedly be a Marth clone (and I know "they can make him unique!" but he'll probably still be a clone regardless.)

I also hope Ike doesn't get in. Not that I don't like Ike it's just his role as a large slow swordsman with a big powerful sword is kinda already taken by Ichigo.

I think Ike is pretty much gonna join.

Yeah, he made a small cameo at the side of a minigame that you play to get that special mushroom that Mario eats and becomes sick.

Gharnef is the original antagonist of Fire Emblem, he's a FE rep that doesn't use a sword. He's also a villain which this game needs more of.

Ayumi Tachibana:
She's from the original NES and she has potential for a unique moveset. She could like Phoenix Wright with a couple of moves taken from other NES/Famicon games. Another female fighter and a retro rep.

Dillon:
Dillon was one of the most highly requested characters for Smash 4. He has an interesting move pull and as we've seen with Issac, the Devs are definatly attentive when it comes to what the fans want.

Zoroark:
This one is almost a given. Zoroark is probably the most likely of any 5th Gen pokemon. Zoroark coul even have a copy ability as his Dspec similar to Kirby's ut instead Zoroark transforms into a black and red version(or something to make it easy to tell wich ones zoroark, maybe keep his mane) of the character(e.g. Kappa Falcon), and replaces all of his current specials with that of the transformed character. He could have Night Slash(Spec), Leer(Nspec) and Pursuit(Uspec) to help differentiate him from Lucario and Mewtwo.

A 6th Gen Pokémon Rep:
Now think about this, Sakurai said that he had intended to add Greninja before his initial design was even finished. So, who's to say the Devs didn't do the same. At the time, we were just getting v0.9a and we all new the game wasn't even remotely close to the final release(with the possible release at the time being 2016-17). So who's to say at that time the Devs didn't already pre-plan to have a 6th Gen Pokémon in SSF2? As for who it is though is anyone's geuss, but I believe it might be between Greninja, Delphox, Pangoro, Hawlucha, Goodra or Noivern.

Ray MK:
We've only got one character to represent the Gamecube era of Nentindo, so why not have Ray MK? He could even use a switch system that works as a mix between Shulk's Monado Arts and MM's Dspec(e.g. switches to his dragon armor, deals more damage but makes it easier for you to be launched), being able to switch parts and altering his specials. He also has a huge move pull like.

Adam Malkovich:
Another Metroid rep is long overdue, but Ridley "is too big" and Dark Samus is better off as a costume, Malkovich could be a futuristic version of Snake, and could even have a few moves based off of Samus. Think of Master Chief in smash and Snake had a metaphorical baby.

Toon Zelda/Tetra:
A possible clone character, but be honest with yourselves is Smash really smash without at least 2-3 good clone/simi-clone characters? I can see TZ working slightly different than normal Zelda, but Tetra could play a lot diferent than Shiek.

Toon Ganondorf:
He's got essentially the same chances as TZ/Tetra, the only difference is that his moveset could be drastically different from normal Ganondorf. Ganon could use his sword and his magic abilities for his attacks, he could essentialy be what Ganondorf should have been.

Poo:
A lot of people wanted Ninten, but He's to visually similar to Ness, Poo though, is almost perfect for here. He could be a more physical version of Ness. The only issue with this is that Poo isn't very popular.

Zero:
I think the only leverage Ryu has/had to be playable here is his appearance in SSB4, but because the roster was finalized 2yrs before he was even announced his chances are probably all but gone. Zero however is much more likely, plus at this point it kinda makes more since to add another MegaMan Rep instead of another series.

Pac-Man:
Its very possible that the Devs were trolling us with that leak, but its also possible that the Devs could consider Classsic PacMan a different character, or planned on removing or replacing the AT.
