Discuss Tails specific gameplay here.

So if there are any Tails players here who learn how to use him, I would love to see what things you come up with on how to play him

his Bair is pretty weird but it's good for edge guarding since he moves the opposite direction in which hes attacking

With this new version what do you think are the best ways to play him?

Keep away with Fair and abuse his projectile..
NO rushdown....no mindgames.... tails have to play reeeaaally defensive this time around.
He can still punish OK but he can't really force them like in the last demos... he's almost a completely new character.

Just personal opinion but I don't think Tails is actually bad, but you definitely can't play him like in 0.9a.

But I think he has potential to be good when more practice and research is done. At least the average person can at least try him now without always losing

his bair has some good killing power and knockback

that only makes him less unique to users like you ..and me
and unless someone have a breakthrough like I did last demo I'm pretty sure tails cannot be any good... well atleast now fuh the first time since forever he can chaingrab.

But about for casual play with just your friends who aren't pros though?

Trust me I think some discoveries will happen. He isn't as good, but I think it was give some take some, where he has some redeem qualities.

Basically I am making myself feel better before we decide he isn't good. Or else I will be depressed for a bit :/

please no, don't get depressed...I won't drop him or nothing, this just means there's a chance we'd have to work twice as hard to win against humans and all (considering we learn all there is to know)

Thanks. Even the worst characters in the game can still win. And it makes it more special.

However I will say though, he isn't bottom tier I wouldn't think. Just not as good.

Edit: Sorry if I made you worry. I just get sad for a little bit when things like this happen. I will be better soon.

This isn't even the first patch of the version yet. The devs fix bugs and glaring balance inequalities in the patches.

So get good with him now while he's bad, so you'll be even better with him when he's good.

Edit : I really don't want you to think I was complaining or getting stupidly upset over this. Just a little down

SWD is still in and now scales with charge.... and a bunch of other stuff. There were actually very few nerfs for Tails.

Uthrow ends in the air now, buff.
UpB is useful, buff.
Aerial jumps are higher, buff.
Nspec hits once but still does major shield damage, nerf.


What's the big issue?
