Say Juck, can I say something here?
Smash 4 has seven female characters in it, not counting the alternate versions of Samus and Zelda. That's as many as all the female characters combined from the past three games, and if you include female Robin and Villager, that's even more. Not to mention female Mii fighters. Of these 7-12 characters, only three have been sexualized by Nintendo (Zero Hecks Given Samus, Lucina in a trophy, anime butt Palutena), and of those, Samus is the only one sexualized in normal gameplay. Four of these characters wear large dresses, two of them wear full body armor. And Wii Fit Trainer is flat like a Middle Eastern concubine.
Now, let's look at these characters in their respective series. Zelda is the ruler of a kingdom, master of magic passed down from the three goddesses. She can fight. Lucina's outfit has literally nothing wrong with it from a pragmatic standpoint, providing mobility as well as defence; plus, she's the descendant of the greatest warrior in the FE universe. Samus is Samus. Everyone in the universe knows the bounty hunter and fears her skill. Palutena and Rosalina are literally goddesses. The only character who you can legitimately say is sexualized can still kick your a**.
But no, this game has no worthwhile gender representation, and only appeals to prepubescent boys. (I know you're being a troll, but still.)
Also, there's another fighting game with a dog in it. It's called Ehrgeiz, for arcades and Playstation. You can also play as Final Fantasy 7 characters.

Nana is also a female. In brawl you could even play as her and have Popo be the AI if you choose the right colors.

Even so, there's still twice as many female characters as Brawl.

According to SmashBoard mods who spoke to him, he lied about it at first because he though if he lied about popular characters being in he'd be more believable, though it backfired
This is all to be taken with a grain of salt though

Why does he have the same Up special as Marth/Roy/Lucina? Why is his Dsmash the same just he spins twice? Why does he have dolphin slash?

the video starts with a move that's not anything like Roy's, along with the move right after that the move after that isn't the same as the dsmash, he spins a couple of extra times. the move after the assumed dsmash is nothing like anything Roy has what is that japanese symbol? does that have to do with Shulk? i'unno, never played xeno the move when he's falling off the edge is closer to link's move than anything else there's the one move that's like marth's/roy's/lucy's that edge attack is totally different again, a new move after that i dunno what that explosion is. is it part of shulk too? that downair is semi-similar but is much slower there's that dsmash there looks like another fire move there, but that is nothing like what roy has that CPU sure does like that dsmash i couldn't see that KO move much but the way he swung that sword isn't like roy's

This is Shulk with his weapon the Monado. It's been a while since I played Xenoblade, but the monado displays different symbols in the circle depending on the move Shulk is about to use, or something like that. It displayed other symbols during cutscenes that pertain more to what's happening in the story. It makes sense the way it's being used in the footage, and is nice representation of the game. Edit: Here's his Monado Arts bar displaying his moves, each one has a different symbol.
