J-Stars Victory Vs. is a two vs. two fighting game. Although battles can become two vs. one if you defeat a fighter. You set up a team, but only directly control one character. The computer controls your partner.



Basic attacks chain up into combos and you can do power attacks if you have enough meter. This meter is shared among the team and when all three segments are full you can do an ultimate attack. Special attacks can be comboed one after another. A scan shows Goku firing a Kamehameha in mid-air and then Naruto using a Rasenshuriken.



J-Stars Victory Vs. is in development for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

I assume an "ultimate attack" is a combination attack between the two members of the team (a la Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2), unless one has been downed. I wonder if there'll be a way to tell your partner what to do or indirectly control them (like in... NBA Jam I guess?) instead of just letting them run around. Hmm... Would they also have some characters that are support only?

I wonder if players would be able to switch with their AI-controlled partners. I doubt it but hey, you never know. That'd be kinda cool but at the same time I see it possibly being broken.

How do you see it possibly being broken from what I imagine it could help you if the AI was in a bad spot.

Think about it though, the cpu might be able to do the same to you.

^ Huh. Well that certainly changes things. If that translation is correct, the 2vs2 almost sounds optional. Like there's an implication that there could be a 1v1 or a 4 player free-for-all, and its only when you (singular) go up against a team of two will you be given a computer-controlled partner.

Sounds good to me
