Bit of a quick idea experimenting with contrast. The backgrounds would either pure white or pure black, and maybe occasionally overlap or be a gray color.

Mostly done because I wanted long flowy ponytail/hair ribbons.

Interesting. I'd definitely like if you played a bit more with this idea, it could be interesting what you could pull off.

I can probably try and figure out a run cycle and a jump and then try making a short animation of it. Hopefully that could work out.



Concept's there, looking at it, but not enough style. It's just a stick figure. Fun, though.
My idea was more of a side scrolling platformer (At least, that's how I envision it), but I definitely see the similarity.

I've decided to basically just revamp pretty much most of the things I've ever made (Including previous things I've never uploaded, other versions I never showed off, and just really old stuff I'm somewhat ashamed I ever was okay with.) in these styles in between other sprites and animations, but aside from this guy down below, these are all new designs. Just felt like rounding out the numbers for Third Law.

This is probably the earliest thing I still had saved that wasn't an edit, aside from early CoEL stuff, which I'll probably do later down the road as a huge package. Design held up a heck of a lot better than the old Battle Mage... This was made back in May 2013, for reference.

When I was getting crit on the first iteration, I literally introduced it as "This guy summoning a magic clone, albeit just to strike a pose."

It's important to the character, but I totally just made a cool pose cause it was visually interesting.

The second and first are the ones I am focusing on. First style (Hyper Light Drifter-y) is meant more as just a design reference to look at when I'm making the character. It's really simple, so I make it just because. The second (Super Time Force) is the one that involves more posing, style and effort. That is the main focus of redoing all my old sprites, which is anything after the STF style.
