hey fellas, thought I'd make a thread about how training mode could be improved - I'll start us off by listing a couple of things that would be relatively simple to implement (I think) but are really useful:

  • Toggle Random CPU Teching - When off, CPUs will never tech. When on, CPUs will tech randomly. Think of it as a dice roll from 1-4. If the dice lands on a 1, the CPU misses the tech. If they roll numbers 2-4, they will either tech in place, techroll left or techroll right. Really useful for combo and techchasing practise. At the moment, even level 9 CPUs will miss 90% of techs.
  • 1 FPS Speed - Add 1 FPS to the 'Speed' modifier in training mode. It only has up to 1/4 speed at the moment, but if 1 FPS was implemented it would be really useful for discovering frame data and such without having to use an external program.

leave your ideas below!

Being able to take photos.
Making the pause feel more like Smash 4, with the opponent regaining their damage rather than always coming back to 0%

I disagree. I and many other people like to be able to reset the damage without having to manually go to the reset button, which also resets the positions of the characters.

An idea that I always thought should be implemented into the smash games is more control settings for the training AI.
Having options like 'always shielding' and 'always crouching' would be a nice way to test things like crouch cancelling and what moves are good for shield pressure, without needing another player.
Options like 'always DI up', 'always DI down', ect. could possibly be added too.

good ideas. I think completely random DI would be nice too. I think you can sort of control DI in or away if you set the CPU to 'chase' or 'avoid' but this is a pretty ghetto solution lol

Smash 4 lets you reset back to 0% if you move the damage to 1% and then to 0%
