I could have sworn I read on the forums that this game was intended to remain at 30 fps. My question is what the specific reason is for that? I assumed it is because this would make the game too big as time went on. Or is it perhaps that the game would move too fast? I was just curious of y'alls reasoning behind 30 over 50 or 60.

30 FPS isn't any slower than 60, it just has less frames per second. So, let's take Fox's shine for example. In this game, it hits only on frame 1. This would be like hitting on frames 1 AND 2 in 60 FPS. Still the same length of time just the animation he's spread over more frames which leads to smoother animations. also, if the game were to run at 60 frames per second, then we'd have to make double the frames for every move to keep the animations smooth and nice quality (which takes even more time.
to my knowledge, that's one of the reasons. the public wouldn't be happy if production would take twice as long as it's already taking, and I'm pretty sure most developers don't want to be working on this game forever lol |
