Been trying to watch this. Does it have a English dub yet?

I watched the first episode when it came out, and stopped for some reason. It seemed really cool. I'll watch some more of it tonight.

why would you even want an english dub
the voices are s*** and almost never as good as the jap dub

only exceptions are DBZ and 2x2 shinobuden

the voices are usually comparably s*** in japanese, it's just easier to ignore when your attention is focused on the subs

klk has good voice acting though

I've wanted to make this topic for a while, but this series has a lot of negative backlash in certain places, and I didn't know where this place was on the spectrum yet.

Some people have the craziest reasons why they feel like this anime is s***. I don't profess to understand their reasons.

it's not without its glaringly obvious writing faults but the ridiculous asspulls are the reason the show is so entertaining so it negates itself

Never gave it a hard thought, but I guess I will give it a try.

The only issue I had with the first episode was her outfit at the end. She seemed like a cool unique protagonist, and then they put her in really skimpy outfit. Like for what reason? I was upset because I just don't think it was necessary. I had been thoroughly impressed up to that point. Everything else was great, especially the animation and overall style.

That's not why I stopped watching, I wasn't that upset about it, just stopped for whatever reason. But like I said i'll pick it up again.

really? i picked up on the message the moment i started watching it, i thought it was pretty obvious

in order to reach her full potential, she must become comfortable in her own skin and overcome ashamedness of her body. i don't know when you dropped it but this is explained very early on in the series

it's a message of body positivity and a commentary on how young women are sexualized by the media. not necessarily a good one, but i give it credit for trying

Like I said, I only watched the first episode. I don't think they really forced that message during the first episode yet, but that's interesting. I had no idea.

I feel like that may have been an intentional prude-trap or something. I don't know. I was deterred by it a bit too, but not enough to stop watching. Curiosity proved to be good in this case.

And yeah, Senketsu's appearance is entirely necessary to go along with the themes of the series, so I can accept the fan service. Were it totally useless/gratuitous without any real reason, I would've dropped this series forever ago.
