Well we'll see I suppose, but I don't think the average MG user is really qualified for any kind of logical discussion.

Just me, though. I'd love to be proven wrong in the future. /shrug

Off topic s#%$& about burning and Muslims

People who never signed up for the debate entering the fray!

Gold: Long paragraph about s#%$& I pulled out of my a** tl;dr no limiting free speech (if that was the argument, no need to elaborating, pretty sure they would actually read it in the debate section, otherwise just write "don't limit free speech")

Dark Waluigi: GAY RIGHTS!

random incoherent points spewed out like diarrhea

Oh look the debate is over

Man, the debate section is such a trainwreck!
Some hilarious stuff in there, can't wait for the next one!

Hey... I tried to prove my point, and the whole Quran thing was brought up by someone else. I just responded to it.

Sorry, guess I attributed it to you when I read it.

But either way, it was pretty stupid for everyone to go off topic.

True indeed.
I think most topics spark interest in the suggestion thread, then when they're released, one person proves a good point, 99% of people flock to him, and the rest of the topic just goes down from there.

If someone posted a rebuttal, that debate could actually go somewhere. I'm fairly certain that everyone signed up on the side of limiting free speech is able to do so. If no one does, then instead of saying that the debate sucked, would it not be more appropriate to applaud DVDV for delivering a "knockout punch"?

The issue was that most of this debate was based on personal feelings instead of cold facts.

The whole debate was doomed to begin with, mostly because I doubt anyone here realized you can't state opinion and then say your argument is correct.

Debate is educated argument, not gut feelings.

Nobody posted anything close to a "knockout punch"
I explicitly stated that I gave up on the subject because they were talking out of their asses

Sorry, I fail to see how my argument was subjective. In fact, the mere action of claiming that my argument was subjective would be a continuation of the debate, a source of progress.

I didn't say it was subjective, but it might as well be, because there were no citations or sources listed.
