Nah m8, Shadew the Hedgehog is way too edgy for SSF2. Shadow the Hedgehog on the other hand is fine.

What I would like from Sonic would be Eggman in a spike roofed Eggmobile with small Big Arm arms and small Death Egg Robot legs and jetpack instead. I'm currently thinking of a moveset for him that I might put in the "expansion character" thread later.

up b: either emolga can pick him up (kinda like olimar and pikmin) or can just direct dragon rage upwards (kinda like greninja)

down b: I have thought of anything

final smash: outrage (traps an opponent and unleashes a onslaught of punches and kicks and scratches)

knuckles moves:

Ideas I've had for a while. Most I've wanted to see in the official series.. but haven't gotten in. I'm really hoping to play as a number of these characters someday, but most probably won't be a thing.

Mario Series:
Waluigi
Waluigi's kind of in a weird spot. He's the only... Are Wario and Waluigi plumbers? Not too sure. Regardless, he's the only one missing from playable characters. It wouldn't be the first time a character has been promoted from Assist trophy status. I'd imagine his moveset involving mainly sports and Mario Party and Mario Kart references, as those are the games he comes from, and maybe a few moves that are underhanded or cheat-like. A move that creates an item for example or an attack that floors the target if it connects (like he tripped them or something).

Kirby Series
Galacta Knight
Just an idea I had in passing once, but now he's starting to make recurring appearances so i figured I'd add him here.
According to the lore of the series he's one of the greatest warriors and was sealed out of fear of his power.
I imagine his moveset being somewhat similar to Meta Knight's but maybe with some projectiles rather than a full on melee moveset.

EarthBound/Mother Series:
Gigue (Mother 1/Earthbound Beginnings)
The main antagonist of the first two Mother games and arguably also partly to blame for the final one as well.
He's a major, if not the main vilain of the series (sans Mother 3 where Porky held the role).
He'd fill the villain slot and also a slot as another Earthbound rep.
He belongs to the race that created PSI, so I imagine he could have a very diverse moveset rather than being a Ness clone, especially considering the series has many PSI attacks.

Masked Man (Mother 3)
AKA Claus
Lucas's brother.
While not Porky, he was a notable and recurring antagonist in Mother 3 and very important in the story.
His moveset would involve a mix of PSI attacks, his gun, and his saber.

Pokemon
Plusle and Minun
It's speculated that the two were considered for Brawl but scrapped.
I imagine the two using an Ice Climber-esque fighting style but using electric type moves.

Infernape
Personal bias tbh. Infernape is my favorite final evolution starter Pokemon, and Chimchar was my first Pokemon. It'd use a mix of martial arts and fire type moves and be quick on its feet. Infernape could also use a few other moves it can learn outside its type.

Deoxys
Another idea I had once in passing.
Deoxys would have a mechanic similar to Shulk's Monado Arts: Forme changing. Normal, Attack, Defense, and Speed.
Deoxys's moves would largely involve beams, projectiles, and psychic attacks, though it can learn other moves.


Sonic the Hedgehog
Shadow the Hedgehog
I really don't think this needs explaining. He was in the first smash flash game and is quite a popular character.
His moveset would largely involve using various forms of chaos powers such as spear, lance, control, snap, blast, etc. He could maybe use a gun in a move or two, to call to his one game, but it's not really needed.

Metal Sonic
Metal Sonic I imagine also having a number of unique moves despite being another Sonic expy. He's shown in the series to be able to generate electricity from his body, create a black diamond shield, and shoot lasers from his torso. Metal Sonic also notably has very sharp claws which- if I recall correctly - he uses as part of his moveset in Sonic the fighters. I imagine his final smash would be a transformation into his Metal Sonic Kai form from Knuckles Chaotix or his Metal Overlord form from Sonic Heroes

Eggman
Honestly I feel that for the sake of being the main villain, he'd be a good pick. As for how? I imagine he'd either (A) be in his Sonic the Fighters mech, (B) be in his Sonic Adventure 2 Eggwalker, or (C) be in a weaponized Eggmobile containing references to various boss fights in his moveset. Something like a small Death Egg Robot as a previous poster suggested would be nice too

Mega Man Series
Zero (Mega Man X Series/Mega Man Zero Series)
Admittedly, I haven't played much Mega Man for about a year, but when I did I felt Zero had very great potential as a Smash character given his arsenal in the Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero games. I'm pretty sure he'd be a popular pick as well

Cave Story

After playing Cave Story, I gotta say I'd also really like to see Quote - the protagonist of Cave Story- someday. Perhaps with Curly as an alt costume. The game's a classic, well known enough, and been rereleased on enough Nintendo consoles - there's actually a Switch port coming up soon - for him to be a viable pick. Quote also has a wide arsenal of weapons from which his move set can be derived.

Fire Emblem:
Some people may argue the main game has plenty of reps in it, but the representation is more title lead protagonists rather than representation of the games. In the games, there are a number of weapon types.
It's my favorite franchise, so most of my ideas came from it.

Alm (Fire Emblem Gaiden/Shadows of Valentia)
One of the two lead characters of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, released earlier this year.
I imagine his moveset being closer to Link's rather than Marth's. His moveset would incorporate his sword, a bow, and his specials would be based on various skills from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. One example being the Windsweep skill from iron swords as a down special, which is also his signature skill in Heroes. It allows him to attack foes without them countering. Smash has a number of characters with a counter down special or a toad, so I can see it working in his moveset. Side Smash would be double lion, just borrowed from Link's I imagine.
Alm scored fourth in the men's division of Fire Emblem Heroes' second "Choose Your Legends," right after Marth, so he is very popular in the fanbase.

Celica (Fire Emblem Gaiden/Shadows of Valentia)

Ephraim is a popular character, recently winning second in the men's division of the second "Choose Your Legends" poll of Fire Emblem Heroes.
He's one of very few lord characters in the Fire Emblem series that starts with a non-sword weapon. In his case, a lance. I'd imagine most of his moveset involving thrusts, repeated stabs, and spinning his lance around. Notably, in terms of melee weapons- not just of Fire Emblem characters- but in Smash as a whole, swords tend to dominate. Ephraim could bring something refreshingly new in terms of gameplay and moves. I also imagine his lance would have a tipper mechanic, dealing most damage near the tip.

Tiki (Multiple Fire Emblem Titles)
Tiki has made a number of appearances in the series, mainly limited to the Arcanea series, but she's also appeared in every spinoff of the Fire Emblem series (save a few crossovers). I imagine her moveset being a mix of physical attacks in her human form and transforming parts of her body in some attacks. She can turn into a dragon, maybe about Bowser's size, for more powerful attacks, but in line with the transformation mechanic in her original game, this would have limits. In Fire Emblem 3, later reflected by Tiki's implementation in Fire Emblem Warriors, Dragonstones transform the user, rather than acting as weapons, and last only a certain amount of turns. I imagine there'd be some gauge or something that recharges over time. Trying to transform too early would result in no transformation or much weaker attacks in a much shorter transformation. Down Special would change forms, and there could be different breath attacks perhaps reflecting the different types of dragonstones.

Azura (Fire Emblem Fates)
Azura's the right-hand girl to Fire Emblem Fate's main protagonist, Corrin. Arguably the deutragonist.
She's a more recent alternative to Ephraim and would also wield a lance. Her fighting style would be more reminiscent of dancing than standard combat. It could also include a bit of her "water bending" which, while never actually seen used for combat in Fates (but is in Warriors), could go in her animations and taunts.
Azura is a popular Fire Emblem character as well. She scored 5th in the women's division of the second "Choose Your Legends" for Fire Emblem Heroes.

Lyn (Fire Emblem The Blazing Blade)
If Fire Emblem had to get another Sword rep (besides Alm) I'd have to say Lyn. Lots of people have been hoping she'd get in but she's stuck as an assist trophy. Blazing Blade was the first FE game the west saw and Lyn the first lord we got. She was effectively the "Marth" of the west. She won first place in Fire Emblem Heroes' first Choose Your Legends event, and vocal support for her in Smash is pretty loud as is. I hope that if she ever was added, she'd get a very different moveset from Marth. Something with faster swings and maybe more precise attack radiuses (compared to Marth's wide and relatively slow swings). I imagine her being one of the fastest running/walking characters in the game and having a moveset focused on her speed both on foot and her blade swings

Anna (Nearly Every game. Heroes for this)
Anna's easily the most recognizable non-lord in Fire Emblem, having been a shopkeep for almost all the series (Gaiden/Echoes being the exception). She's arguably the mascot of the series. Why Heroes Anna? FeH representation, and she could make for a good axe rep. I feel her Chibi version would be more interesting, as it's the one that's seen more in gameplay and would create a striking visual clash with other FE characters, but I'd be fine with her artwork version.

Well, my idea for a new character of 'smash' is this: Dante, the favorite fighter-demons of the people. Also, if Sora could enter, then why not Dante.
Now, the design of Dante can be based on its four main deliveries (discounting the new 'DmC' because ... well, it's 'DmC'), being the third and fourth installment the most loved and crazy of the franchise.
Leaving aside, Dante's set of movements may be the following, taking as reference the movements of his fourth installment: 'Devil May Cry 4: SE'

Basic movements:
_ Combo: Combo A of 'Rebellion' (The whole saga)
_ Attack loaded lateral: Stinger of 'Rebellion' (The whole saga)

On the rest of attacks and movements you have plenty to take, so I leave to the imagination as they can be the rest of their offensive repertoire.
As for the shield and dodge, the style can be taken as reference: 'Royal Guard' and 'Trickster'; as with teasing.
