My personal changes I would make:
Switch Lloyd and Pika
Move DK, Naruto, and Ichigo higher
Move Fox and Yoshi lower

I have lately switched to Black Mage, and he is clearly in the S tier. Come on, he is probably one of the easiest to learn AND has lots upon lots of easy combos that kill on anyone. DownA+SideB anyone?

Haste kills if your opponent is at super high percent, never otherwise.

BM's problem is that in neutral you just get destroyed by fast characters. This is difficult to see if you don't have opponents who abuse it, but Fox or Falcon can just charge and you can't really do much besides full-hop dair and hope you get lucky.

Well, Haste, how I use it, here is to stall the opponent slightly that the reaper attacks while the enemy is off the stage, to meteor them.
But yes, BM has problems with Fox and Falcon, but you use your second main for that.

Characters deserve to be in the S-tier/High A-tier if they are capable of winning tournaments by themselves. This is why characters like MK and ZSS are always on-top. If Black Mage struggles too much against characters that are very common in today's metagame (Like Fox, who is seeing more and more usage in competitive) then he simply can't be S-tier.

Fox I can agree on, but Falcon? BM doesn't need to set up a wall in any situation agaisn't a Falcon, we just out prioritize him in most situations.

Also, yeah. BM can only get so high because of the Fox MU being so bad, the fast faller status of him actually helps him out in most situations agaisn't the Mage.

Aside from him there isn't really all that many characters that are what I would consider "counterpicks" for BM, but most of the high tier MUs tend to be on the neutral side (50-50) to him being considered top tier.

Falcon is a different MU, and one that IMO favors BM, but I was trying to say that it can be difficult against fast characters. BM only wins that MU because two of his niche neutral tools, Haste and Meteor, are incredibly effective and BM has excellent punishes.

To me, BM's other problem is that he doesn't have ways to kill without edgeguarding easily, which makes characters like Pika, MK, and ZSS really difficult MU's.

S - Can win a tournament on their own easily, and are considered to be the most optimal characters for tournament play.
A - Can win a tournament on their own generally easily, however they have certain
aspects holding them back which prevent them from being optimum for tournament play.
B - Can win a tournament on their own less easily, and are generally considered less usable in the game, but have favourable qualities that still make them viable. May need a secondary to back them up.
C - Can win a tournament on their own with great difficulty, as they have crippling flaws which significantly hold them back.

Yay Mario in B+! But I think Ichigo should take Link's spot, and Link should take Mario's spot, and Ness should be right behind Mario. (Ichigo 17, Link 18, Mario 19, Ness 20). Still a good tier list way better than animeking's tierlist
