"A brand new 2D sidescrolling action game developed by Inti Creates under direction by Yoshihisa Tsuda, designer of Mega Man Zero 2 and 3, for the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Keiji Inafune is producing."

It's $15 on the eshop, and for a limited time you also get a copy of Mighty Gunvolt for free. Mighty Gunvolt is another megaman esque side scroller in an 8 bit style. And it's also a cross over of Azure Striker and Mighty No. 9.

This is a pretty good deal, so I downloaded it earlier today. They both seem pretty solid. I wish Azure striker was a bit more challenging but an enjoyable game nonetheless. I've only played the first stage of both so far, so it might get more challenging.

Has anyone else downloaded these or plans to download them?

It looks like a lot of fun. I want to play it, but I don't want really want to spend money right now, especially since Layton vs Phoenix just came out

Might get it after that though. Maybe

I hear you, i'll let you know if I think it's worth it.

Kinda weird, for Mighty Gunvolt once you choose you're character (there's 3 characters all with different moves) you can't change it. (As far as I can tell). I don't really mind, the game is probably short, i'll end up just playing through it with each character.

So, how do you get Mighty Gunvolt? I bought and downloaded Azure Striker, but I don't see the option for Mighty anywhere.

Go back to the eshop and find your receipt for Azure Striker. On the receipt is a download code for mighty gunvolt.

I want to get both. I should get a 3DS first though. I'd really like to play this game! Looks very enjoyable!

I'd have to agree, you probably should get the system that's required to play the game first.

I beat Mighty Gunvolt. It's really short, about an hour, but I expected as much. It's still enjoyable, plus there are still 2 more characters to experience the game with.

Finally beat it! I really like the system, but other than two bosses, the game was pretty easy. If a sequel gets made, I hope that it's harder.
Other thoughts:

Jato and Viper are my favorite bosses. I like Viper because his attack literally kicks a**. Although that bullet hell s*** was annoying. Jato's design and attacks reminds me of Harpuia and Hivolt, two of my favorite Mega Man haldheld bosses. All the characters in this game were very unique to me. Well, except, two. Nova was bland as s*** even in his final form. That last attack in his final form was also the most annoying thing since the Weil final form in MMZ4 because you literally lose most of your jumping space. Copen is just Proto Man with a fancier shield and white hair. His boss fight is also boring as hell.

It sucks that you can't fight beam dick. ;~;

EDIT:
YouTube Video:

This is my favorite song in this game.

I heard America got the cheese with this localization. I might actually pass this up because I love dialouge, although, I heard the characters in the game didn't get any significant development considering that there was enough for that.

I'm saying this in comparison to the Mega Man games, where the laws of robotics applied. This game has an entirely different approach to it. It still seems worth trying out, however.

I don't have a 3DS, unfortunately.
