Water temple stage, based on N64 version.
Was making space on my hard drive and came upon this. I think this was one of my first efforts.
Not sure about the perspective on the sides.
Someone told me before not to make tall stages, but to make wide ones. Don't know why.

Anyway I thought I'd share it. I might finish this one later, there is still quite a bit to do.

It looks really good so far.
Though, I never finished OoT (I know, I know) so I can't really say anything about the water temple but keep going

Just thought I'd share what I've been working on recently.
The Gerudo valley stage is from Smash Bros 3ds. I really like the look of it so I thought I'd try to sprite it. Still a lot to do.
The water temple stage would maybe work better with just one level. The water could still go up and down though.

Really excited for the direct tonight! Hope they show off some new stages. Only two new stages were shown at Apex, both moving ones. The stages that were re-sprited looked amazing though.

Edit, forgot to mention that the Gerudo valley music is epic, and would be great to play along to.

The release tomorrow got me excited for the game again, and seeing as I had a couple of days off I finished doing the rocks.
Still a lot to do and to touch up, but yeah I'm happy with the progress.

Can't wait to try out the next version!

Just showing the latest work on the Gerudo Valley stage.
I don't have a 3ds so I haven't ever seen the original stage up close, but from the pictures I've seen it's quite close. Just let me know if there is anything missing, or not right, like colour-wise for instance.

I need a tutorial on water and waterfalls, does anybody know of a good one? It has to be animated as well. That's really the only thing missing now.

Oh also the background is a separate sheet, so in-game it would move.

Let me know what you guys think!

Oh I forgot to post this too.
It started out when I was practicing spriting rocks and grass on a small scale.

I might continue these, but I'll probably do another Zelda stage instead. Still these might give other people ideas.

I always thought that a pokemon stage should just be random routes or caves with pokemon in the background or acting as hazards. I was also going to do a forest one but I didn't have any ideas.

EDIT: I thought the best way for the stage to work is that when you would pick it, you would randomly get either the route, cave, city or forest, each with a different layout.

If you actually do make another Zelda stage, I would suggest the Twilight Realm. Or maybe just go all out in a random franchise. It is all up to you.

Another small update on the Water Temple stage.

Feedback is appreciated, cheers.

Oh and thanks to the Hero of Winds guy, that water art by that guy was amazing! Still looking for a step by step tutorial for waterfalls though.

EDIT. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I1wQ7k9JnQ (video of Project M for comparison)

Just to give an idea of how the stage could work with hazards on. Water level goes up and down just like in the original game.

Did you ever considered to make an 2D Sprited version of LoZ OoT?
