Though I gotta say, they kinda overdid it with the costumes imo. Some of 'em don't even really look all that good if you ask me.

Then again, not like it really hurts having them either I guess.

I don't mind the costumes at all, but what I DO mind is
we can only use them in SMB mode (at least that's how it seems)

They're not going to make three sprites + a 3D model for every costume when they can just limit the costumes to one game style and make a huge amount of them instead

If you're going to have a problem with them, it should be that a lot of them are in the s*** indie game-type faux-retro style and wouldn't be possible on an actual NES because they have too many colours/incorrect colours

The real problem we should have with them is the s*** Mega Man sprite they used instead of just using the actual NES sprite

And for some reason they actually used Sonic the Hedgehog sprites (from the first game) which stick out like a sore thumb.

so i got super mario maker so far i have been having alot of fun with the game and i don't even have all of the tools and items yet.

i made 2 stages that are pretty hard but beatable if you play mario games enough

i'm glad they didn't back down on every single amiibo having a sprite, but it's a bummer that some of them just have random generic 'cute thing' noises instead of some voice clip or sound effect relevant to the character. it's probably a rights thing since it seems to have happened with specific series like pokemon but i'm not sure how that works out to mario maker being allowed to use the characters but not their sounds? idk

yea i was weirded out by that too when i used my jigglypuff amiibo for the first time. like at first i was thinking maybe it was some behind the scenes reason that we don't know. and than i got the shulk outfit and was like why does he have his own clip and even more it's in japanese. yet kirby can't even freaking say "hi"
