I think the reason for it looking like that is because of the lack of shading on the face.

I made an attempt to fix that along with some other crit that I got for VGR.

Finally got around to starting to animating it. I think her right hand needs to move, but I'm not sure on how to do it.

Will complete that Lyn animation soon, but I felt like messing around a little more.





The characters at the bottom are the children of the characters at the top. Basically, I'm trying to make the style a little bigger without the outline. I've attempted this before, but I think I've nailed it this time. Also, I haven't the slightest clue how to shade waists. That's the only thing that I haven't done yet on these sprites.

I'm having too much fun with this.

Kinda small update, but I finally around to finishing these. The girl, who I decided to call Haizea, will be my new Avi when I finish the idle animation above because I really like what I did with her.

You've really gotten quite good. I hope you're as amazed at your progress as I am.

One piece of suggestion; right now you shade (upper legs) like tubes; perhaps you could try to use the darkest shade to bring out some muscle detail? Especially since you want to make fighting game-esque sprite this'd be a cool touch.

I am pretty amazed. It feels nice to finally into the grove of spriting again.

As for your suggestion, I can do that, but it'll be for very muscular character. Haizea isn't really that muscular, so that why I left out the muscle detail on her bare legs. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'll use it.

Some information about each and other stuff:
-Vince's storyline will be the main character of the first story, Wayne(originally called Win)'s original storyline: He's a rebel that fights in a gang.
-Haizea's storyline will focus on her trying to be hero like her father and his friends.
-Hwan's storyline will focus on him trying to outclass all of the original protagonists due to the hatred he has for his mother's legacy by defeating all of the children of the protagonists.
-Vince is very c*** and arrogant, kinda like Wayne, but worse, and his c*** foolishness usually leads him to lots of trouble among his peers.
-Haizea's is very peppy and happy unlike her father. Although she gets very snappy when she gets told what to do in regards of her safety by her parents.
-Hwan is a fierce fighter that only cares about defeating his opponent, no matter the cost. Unlike his mother who values the lives of all, even her enemies, Hwan can care less how about his enemies or how others that try to help him feel. The only thing that satisfies him is watching his enemy's hope and confidence drain away slowly.
-Haizea and Hwan meet each other sooner or later. Afterwards, Hwan finds out who she is and hunts her down. Haizea defeats Hwan when she finally decides to be brave and face him. However, this lead to Hwan's rage growing to a point where he wants to kill her out of frustration.
-Vince doesn't meet Haizea until she starts getting hunted by Hwan, but he does meet the children of the other main protagonists before they get assaulted by Hwan. Afterwards, he fights Hwan, but gets defeated due to underestimating Hwan.
-Hwan eventually decides that just outmatching the children of the main heroes wasn't enough to soothe his hatred, so he decides to offer his hands to a group called The BioHex of
Evolution Resurrected, an organization that was destroyed by the protagonist of the time they started to reek havoc.
-Haizea has an EX mode. Hwan and Vince doesn't.
-All three uses the same elements as their parents. Vince uses Lightning, Haizea uses Wind, and Hwan uses Fire.
-There is no true focus on one character in the 2nd Gen arc, meaning that one character isn't gonna get the most attention.

This trio is kinda gonna be like Ragna, Jin, and Noel from Blazblue later on in the story.

WIP from the stream. An issue with the leg on our left has already been pointed out, but I'd like a little more feedback.

Finally got around to Zatara. Which one should I go with? I'm not gonna shade it until I finalize a design btw.
