Thanks, TheCodeSamurai! I had not noticed that there was a forum for so long. Wish I did back then.

I'm not really a Sora player, though. I was just wondering since almost none of the Soras I play online uses this move and I wanted to know if it could be useful.

Also, what are some good situations for Sora's Side-Spec to be used? Throughout my experience with this game, Sora players tend to use this move at the wrong times and either SD themselves, get punished, or baited into moves like Wario's Chomp. I would really like to see someone use this move in a smart manner eventually.

I really hate Sora lol, or at least the way I've seen him played online. Literally all Sora players do is space you out for strike raid, flowmotion, and thundaga when you're airborne. They all seem to do a lot of rolling, too.

Sora is a really aggressive and fun character offline, but a lot of his combos are difficult to do online because you can't really read DI. So you end up spamming flowmotion, because it does 30% and catches people off guard if they have 10 frames to react to it.

Sora is a good rushdown character and online play is indeed an issue for him. Flowmotion is a good move that can be hard to react to, but I just don't like the fact that most Sora players aren't aware that some of us are expecting Flowmotion from middle-max distance online, yet they still do the move like it isn't obvious and they get punished for it. I also think using Flowmotion when the opponent is near the edge of the stage is a bad habit that a couple of Sora players have right now.

Personally I would use Flowmotion for tech-chase, recovery, and occasionally as an escape option. I think it's a terrible rushdown option since it can be stopped or punished if the opponent is anticipating the move.

Is that all you see when you play Soras? That is pretty sad. That being said as I recently got back to playing Sora again after finding 4 other characters that I'm practicing with. I've discovered how much harder it is to use him. I think that spamming S-spec is what can get you killed and a person should use it only to surprise their opponent. When I use Sora I am mostly an aggressive aerial fight as his Fair is really good. I only use his F-smash when I know I can hit and I only you use his up smash in a little combo I like to do. The combo is S-spec neutral -> Spec -> U-smash. As long as they don't DI It always guarantee an U-smash.

I save usmash, it's Sora's only good kill move! Plus, it's probably the best anti-air in the game, with the windbox and enormous disjoint. As you said, it's also really useful as a combo finisher even when it doesn't kill. Fsmash doesn't see much use in my Sora, mostly because it never kills, but also never really combos either. Is flowmotion up -> fair -> uspec guaranteed, with a possible Thunder followup at low percents? I can't tell because I never get the chance to use it against a competent human.

I have a pocket Sora and I have won 13/10 matches with him. He is indeed VERY fun to use... But he also needs alot more buffs. Sure hes fun to combo with but he is so weak that you need about 150 to kill. Other than smash attacks his fair kills... but at 165! And also, what the hell is up with that recovery? If hes weak give him a good recovery, but no. He's weak AND has a poor recovery. Though he may be the most fun character to play, I think he just might be the worst character in the game :(

Personally I believe all Sora needs is more power added to his smash attacks and aerials, and more control with Flowmotion's arc movement.

Just because a character can't kill doesn't mean they're bad. Sora doesn't really have any useless normals, so he always has plenty of options at lots of different ranges.

Remember, it's the options that make a character, not their kill power.
