What is the town order? Seems quite random to me.


The only Pokemon games I really enjoyed were R/B/Y and R/S/E. Emerald was my favorite. I also occassionally touch D/P/Pt because you can catch most of the Pokemon without trading (although I hate the gameplay). I didn't particularly like B/W although I found N's story quite interesting.

well if you have a psp or other mobile device that can emulate gba and gb games plus some people just like oldies

But in Pokémon (as Tid said) if you only need to use surf in a small portion of a route, it is still considered a land route.
They are only water routes if you need to use surf/a boat to go through the whole of it (but there may be islands or ships you can go into, as well).

Yes Captain Pedantic, the word land means the same thing in both situations. The term "land route" in Pokemon, applies to a route that consists majorly of land, even if one or two segments of it, say, a river, require for you to use the move surf to pass.

OK, but that doesn't explain why 90% of the path is water... You said majority of it being land...

My bad, majority was the wrong word to use. I'd definitely say that in a Pokemon game, that much of it being land would be enough to warrant it the title of land route.

But the path from Adelaide to Hobart is like 98% water
