Unless of course you're aware of how projecting depth works.

Yeah, i am actualy, one time at work (which is at an elementairy school btw) the kids had some interesting lesson about how 3d movies were made, i was allowed to watch too. They said it was done by using 2 camera's at once and putting both recordings together for the effect, not sure how it's done with games but i'm geussing it's something similiar.

Okay, new question.
Do you know how contemporary games render stuff? That is 3D objects and the like but not project depth.

But it looked pretty cool, no? It really felt like sonic was in 3 dimensions, like when he stood behind a tree.

I really, really, really despise this 3D craze. It's not like we''re playing with actual 3D capabilities our something, it's pretty much still the same tricks that they used with the virtual boy, and most of the time, it's not even all that they hype it up to be. I mean, if I'm going to have to put on ridiculous glasses, get a splitting headache and lose some of the video quality, I expect to friggen wet myself when a 10 foot monster roars at me. And could people stop sucking Nintendo's dick until they reveal something more than a retarded name and a promise that it'll be a 3D handheld? Because, as I said before; virtual boy. Reminds me of those Sony TV commercials where they showed off the incredible color variation on the TV they were selling... There's something very peculiar at someone trying to use your TV to show how much better theirs is.

1.We are all gonna get scared the crap of everything we play 2.We are going to get blind with the seizures it will cause 3.When 3D hits the shelves, we will all forget about video games

Technically it's 2.5D, and not 3D...

The glasses only work if the video playing is fitted for those glasses. And there is more than one kind of glasses, and style to make things 3D.

There's a bit of a problem with this little 3D craze. It's already been revealed that the sales for these TV's are quite low and companies that are competing against one another are using different glasses designs to avoid some patent issues, which makes your 100 dollar pair of glasses incompatible with other TVs unless they are manufactured by the same company. Chances are a universal pair of 3d glasses won't be around for a few months and they won't be adopted right away by big companies either. On top of that the price for these universal glasses may be.. staggering.

Now that you mention glasses, I love that we don't have to use those crappy paper red/blue ones anymore. These days 3D glasses are pretty comfy and easy to wear. Just like shorts.
