To the other Sonics, how do you guys feel about shorthop spindash>bair as a kill option on fox? I got it today on a fox around 100%, I don't think he was able to just shine or nair out of it.

Sounds like a good one, bair is pretty easy to sweet spot. Uair might work too but it's a lot harder to sweet spot.

That is also a nice kill option on other characters, and is a major tool for sonic in the Jigglypuff matchup. But shorthop spindash>uair on fox? Forget about it. Once he's in the air, he'll outprioritize you with anything. That's why I mentioned him not being able to shine out of it.

I do believe that this is your imagination speaking. Neither the animation nor the knockback trajectory seems to change if one holds up or down prior to releasing the attack. Perhaps what you are experiencing is simply the other player's Directional Influence coincidentally matching up with whatever direction you are holding.

With the specifc spacing it requires to make it viable as a kill option, i think you may be better off trying to use that as a tech chase tool.
