Not with my friends. When we play co-op games. Friendly fire is the equivalent to a punch in the face.

Exactly what i feel. Though if you are quick enough with the button that traps you in a bubble, you can avoid some deaths (e.g. an ally jumps off your head while both of you are over a pit, he jumps to safety, while you fall into the hole).

Also if you have friends that like to pick you up and throw you, remember you can shake the controller to get off them.

Still it's amusing to have one mishap happen every once in a while. I mean...what's the point of friendly fire if you don't take "advantage" of it? *chuckles*

Agreed, using such tactics for humor purposes is fun sometimes, so long as the other person is getting a laugh out of it as well.

I find ironic how Mario Party 9 had no coins at all, yet New Super Mario Bros. 2 is an all out cash-bash game.

 What is Mario up to nowadays?

How's that ironic? Mario Party 9 wasn't developed by Hudson this time, hence the big difference. One thing is the party games and another the platformerm games.

Actually New Super Mario Bros Wii, Mario Galaxy 2, and Super Mario 3D Land, all featured more coins than usual.

3D Land in particular gave lots of em, you get them for jumping on enemies, picking up already collected star coins, picking up the same powerup you already have (also a mushroom at full power), that box you pick up that gives you coins when running around, Touching the flagpole, and lastly for how much time was left in the stage after beating it.

Not to mention all the coins scattered throughout the stages and the infinite coin boxes on the bonus levels.

3D Land also had a lot 1-up mushrooms too.

It's weird that New Super Mario Bros. 2 is just around the corner, yet no one is talking about it here, I guess it has lost its charm, doesn't it?

It will come back when the game comes out. Its just not being talked about now cuz its not one of those highly anticipated games.

There's not really much to talk about it TBH.

Currently Playing: Project M, made by likable human beings, unlike another project...!
New Super Mario Bros sells likes hot cakes despite not being nearly as ambitious or amazing as the Galaxy Games, or even 3D Land. Don't even say it isn't, you can tell how much bigger the Galaxy budget is just by looking at it and you can tell how much more innovative it is just by trying out the gravity stages, while NSMB is just a re-establishment. Granted, it was OK the first time around... but now, give me something that changes enough to be cool, like SMB to SMB3 or something

There is plenty to talk about.

Not buying any more NSMB, they are mediocre, unambitious, and look terribly boring with no real attention to detail.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii was actually pretty fun imo though.
