I don't believe we'll ever make one, just for this reason:
Picture this: It's the end of the world (The ACTUAL end, not 2012), and you have time travel. What are you going to do? go back in time, obviously, just like everyone else on the planet.
Then the Earth slowly gets flooded by refugees from the future.. when the apocolypse comes around again (If some refugees only went back a few years, they'd see it twice), everyone will do the same damn thing, and keep doing it over and over until every freaking time period in history is filled with future people.
..But since that isn't happening right now, I doubt we ever get time travel.

A story by: TerminX There was a book about Time Travel, don't remember what it was called, but it's possible, if a proper machine were to do the job, and to protect the user from death, since he/she's going at the speed of light. A machine to do this sounds impossible, granted, but I feel that that it will exist at a later time. _________________

Of course. We choose how we want our own future. If you want the future to exist, go ahead and somehow make a time machine, again, which is impossible.
