Just got back from the Nintendo Best Buy thing. It was organized really poorly - just one demo station for about 30-40 people there. They had everyone sign up to play ONE game (we got 7-8 minutes each). Everyone who signed up for Zelda played that first, then the Donkey Kong guys, then Mario 3D, and finally Mario Kart was last, because of f*** course it was.

Unfortunately the demo didn't answer a lot of my concerns. There were no new items - only shells, banannas, shrooms and the fire flower. The essential ITEM RAPE items, like the Bill, lightning and blue shell, weren't added (probably so people don't get item raped and vow to never purchase the game). Interestingly, the tail wasn't there, so that might've been removed.

I got to play three tracks - the mobius strip figure 8 track, a town track (with a tram going through it - this is the one in the trailer where you see them drive straight onto the walls), and a SPOOKY ghost track. They were each cut down to 2 laps rather than 3 (so more people would get to play, I'm sure).

Visuals were really nice. 60fps, and really vibrant colors. The coins shine, and it's just really nice looking. The second track had a s*** of shortcuts/alternate paths. I f*** one of them up and fell straight in the water - you see your character being pulled back on the track now, kind of like in MK64. It seemed faster than in 7.

The ghost house track can be seen in the trailer - during one of the hoverboard sections, while you're driving on the wall, you turn downward into what seems to be a wall of water (in reality it's a pool of water you were driving down towards). It was a bit strange the first time I saw it, but it's really cool as f***. The hovercar gimmick amuses me greatly.

Waluigi was in the demo, but he was bike only. I picked Koopa instead, since he had a kart. He felt just like I expected him to from 7 (well, the kart I use in 7). Gyro controls were on by default (for some f*** reason), and I played the first whole track with them before I realized there was a button on the gamepad to switch to stick controls (did pretty well, too). I ended up being the only person who finished all 3 tracks at the whole event - most people ran out of time during the last track (some never finished the first lap of that track). Gotta go fast, and such.

Lastly - I didn't get to try this myself (since I was pretty much always leaving the AI opponents in the dust), but I noticed that when other people bumped into another kart while on a hovercar section, their kart would spin quickly, and then they'd get a brief boost (like from a drift). Seems like the mechanic will take some getting used to.

I plan to go back Saturday to give Donkey Kong a try. If anybody has any questions, I'll try to answer 'em.

Oh, and I got a f***' sweet Luigi hat and a Mario Kart flag. Leagues better than what Club Nintendo offers.

for me,chars like dry bowser or baby daisy really make the game look like s*** and actually make some internet retards speculate them in other games (Yes,in smash bros games) instead of puting so much chars,why they didn't put more tracks? And also,WHY NINTENDO CREATED BABY DAISY,PEACH,LUIGI AND MARIO???? I just hate them,hate them with my life

The only characters i really disagree with in MKWii is King Boo (should have stayed as an item) and Funky Kong (not hating on the character, i just feel he doesnt belong here)

Fawfull for Mario Kart 8, it's never going to be happen but zero probability is still a probability.

Heck, the way things are going I'm surprised we haven't gotten Geno in MK.
