i don't really like being negative about games (esp. when I haven't actually played them), but given that video and the track record of the developers, this isn't really looking that good

but hey, at least capcom are actually trying to appeal to their fans with their outsourced reboots instead of trying to alienate them with them

I just looked them up.
They've made exactly six games so far, three of them are movie licenses, and those three happen to be G.I. Joe, Green Lantern, and Battleship.

So far, I personally think that this looks like an enjoyable platformer with great respect for the earlier titles. Visuals and voice work were great, although I personally found the music to be sub-par (but then again I've only really heard one track so there is that). I hope the game has more content then the earlier Strider titles though.

So, I played this game at Comic Con. It's just as bad as you imagine.
First off, yes, the enemies still shoot at you before you even know they exist. Second, Strider actually isn't a bullet sponge. He dies like a b****.
What happens instead is that literally every enemy gives you HP when you kill it, and there's floating robots everywhere that do absolutely nothing except give you a s*** of HP when you break them open, like future pinatas.

I literally had to stop playing the game because there was a door that only opened if you attacked a power generator repeatedly until it was completely charged up. The problem is partly that it was impossible to fill the bar because it only went up halfway, but also that there's no sensible reason to have to hit a generator more than once to open a door.

Dang, all I hear is bad stuff about this game from the people. I was really looking forward for this to be just like the original games.

Welp, I guess that's what you get for putting fate in Capcom to bring back a title they've long forgotten. It really don't look great either, but I still hope to play it sometime soon.

Oh, did I mention the level design was so impossibly dark that they needed to use lights to point out where the platforms were, and I still had to look at the mini-map to find them? I literally focused more on the mini-map than I did on the actual game.

@Raptor: Were you expecting anything better from Double Helix, the LJN of this generation?

Double Helix IS making the new Killer Instinct, which looks pretty cool, actually.
