if girlfriends s/t counts as emo, that is by far my favorite emo album

if a tree falls in the forest and no-one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? does jerry joiner fiddling around in FL studio for an hour count as an emo album? both questions we will never know the answer to. but we're all leaning towards, "no"

Also Luke I think you should try the album Just Got Back from the Discomfort by The Brave Little Abacus. It's one of of the more experimental projects within emo. Reminds me of WEGF for some reason, idk.

it's a fun album man don't lie
and i don't generally listen to that much emo anyway so i'm obviously not enough of an expert on what it actually is, but i'm fairly certain that it's at least in the vein of upbeat emo or whatever idk man

It has some cool parts like Apocalypse but it's way too... bare.

it's really short as well, but i still think it's quite nice (especially for one dude "screwing around in FL studio")
his vocals are really cool too
it could probably be better as well, but that's why i'm eager for him to release more material and grow and develop as a musician

yeah those are valid too, his voice is actually mixed really low volume in relation to the track iirc, but i can only hear out of one ear so it's a common problem w/me. still think it's mediocre because there's not much going on in a lot of the song. really boring listen for me. and a ton of people said it was a 9/10 goat.

Hello again folks.

Don't know if anyone cares or not, but Inside Jokes by Midwest Pen Pals (one of my favorite emo EP's) has been remastered and is available for free download here

Let me know what you guys think!

I don't really understand how Cap'n Jazz is supposed to be an emo band, they've always felt like a really unique experimental punk outfit to me. Genres are supposed to be convenient but music journalism just convolutes cataloging and it seems like a lot of bands go out and try to be their own thing, but often they get thrown in with a scene they weren't even around for. I don't know, maybe Cap'n Jazz considered themselves 'emo', but I don't think they sound the part.

I guess this sounds pretty 'emo' but its probably classified into some math-iteration. Highlights: Bermuda Triangles, Just Hey, A Live Nativity Scene.
