if it ends up being a 3D game, all I really want are worlds that are fun to explore and find stuff in. i love 3D world and the galaxies, but since sunshine I haven't really enjoyed any of the environments in the 3D mario games. they all have great design from a gameplay standpoint, but none (or very few) are particularly memorable. in my opinion, anyway.

Yeah this, really hope that it's gonna be like 64, sunshine or the galaxies, Mario 3D world is like a New Super Mario Bros game in 3D. Which just doesn't give that open world feel

I'll agree with Galaxy but definitely not for 3D World

3D World had a lot of memorable levels

The levels were great, but with the timer you had too much time to finish the level but not enough to explore it

Really? It was never an issue for me. Maybe you should get better at video games or something

I don't know, I feel I was pressured in to finishing the level, I couldn't take time to check every corner like I don in other games.

Probably I should git gud

Memorable might have been the wrong word actually, I do strongly remember a lot of 3D World's levels. They just weren't as...
Like I loved them, but I just wanted to beat them and find the collectable s***. Because of the game's structure you couldn't really grow to love the levels over time. And they had mechanics that made them unique, but at the end of the day most of them were just floating blocks in the sky arranged in a clever way, none of them felt like environments.

Well, if you're comparing it to something like 64 or Sunshine then I kinda understand. 64 and Sunshine's levels were more memorable because you spent more time in them doing different things to get the Stars/Shines. In 3D World and (the vast majority of) the two Galaxy games it's just "get to the end of the level".

And I definitely agree that having the next Mario game return to those open levels where each mission has you doing different things in them would be nice. I just don't want the game to be built around a central gimmick because I think that cripples creativity.

And I really like Sunshine but I feel like having a dumb water jetpack didn't really add much to the game. :/

I'd love to see Sunshine get an HD wii u release like wind waker. Except maybe not as much bloom effect.

Wouldn't work. Gamepad triggers aren't analogue. Same for Melee.

And no. They're not going to release a game that you -need- the Gamecube controller adaptor to play.

Similar thing with the 3DS not having analog triggers for the vacuum in Luigi's Mansion but they made it work... They could figure it out.

Luigi's Mansion 2 is a new game. It is not a HD port of Luigi's Mansion.

Please come back with a relevant example.

there's 2 trigger buttons on each side, just make it like, if you press both it counts as clicking and if you press one it counts as pushing.
idk
anyway yeah i just want a mario game with those style worlds but just focusing on designing them in cool fun ways rather than adhering to some theme like galaxies or graffiti lol
