Its hard to discuss Sheik gameplay atm, because there's a bug that makes it hard to start as her. If you select Sheik on the character select screen, and pick any stage, it just keeps loading but never ends (or at least lasts a very long time)

Pick Zelda and transform for now. We'll have a patch up that fixes Sheik later.

Oh, and Sheik's B-throw does a strong semi-spike, at least on Fox. Was this intentional?

Sheik basically hasn't changed that much. Her UpB seems to cover higher horizontal distance, which is nice. Not too sure about vertical distance However the hitbox have been reduced, and the move lost a lot of killing power, which is a shame, UpB kills were really cool :/ Oh btw look at what Llyod does to my Sheik at 1:01 : This looks like a really fun edgeguard against Sheik Edit : oh yeah wtf her back throw is really good now. F-throw however is not a killing move anymore, it sends the opponent in the air...Like a up-throw would usually do...Easy fair set-up. Funny thing, the b-throw sends the opponent further than the f-throw.

Ok so I discovered this cool trick : Lemme explain : The first "explosion" of the UpB, when Sheik disappear, still does damage, but it has reduced knockback compared to the previous one. The second part of the move however does no damage, but does this weird thing instead. Also this is a set "knockback" kind of like Fox's Shine, the only problem is, Fox can Shine offstage, jump and recover. Sheik can't do anything after the UpB. So you can't use this offstage. Except if you're playing doubles and your teammate is ready to save you... The advantage this technique has over Fox's Shine, is that technically you're not hitting the opponent. After an UpB, most characters can't do anything. They just fall. If you hit em with a shine when they're falling, it will give em their UpB back. Because you hit em. If you use this trick however since you're not hitting them, they won't get their UpB back and will not be able to recover another time. They will be stuck in a helpless state and just fall offstage. Which happens to Marth on my video. So as long as they haven't landed on the stage yet, if you manage to reappear right next to them with the UpB and send em offstage, they're dead. The advantage of this trick over simply grabbing the ledge is, grabbing the ledge will prevent the opponent from grabbing it, but it won't prevent them from getting back directly on the stage. With this even if the opponent was going to land directly on the stage, you can prevent them from landing and gimp them. The thing is, the timing is really tricky. Also if you miss and appear offstage...You're the one who lose the stock. So it's really difficult, and it's risky. But it's a really fun way to edgeguard/gimp, and you get some style points for doing it.

That's upB's windbox. I think it was like that in Brawl but not as crazy.

That's a terrible reason for calling a character bad. If anything, she got better this demo. -U-smash's Sweetspot is way easier to hit, you can even get it off of a F-throw at lower percents (you need to dash to get it, but its a free 30+%). The sourspot also got stronger. -Her Throw game got better due to B-throw setting up tech chases and F-throw giving her another way to combo into F-air. You can even mixup D-throw and F-throw to screw with your opponent's DI and get a free F-air if you guess right (even if its a wrong guess, you can still get damage) -N-air has more hitstun, so you can actually use it at lower percents without getting punished. This greatly improves her neutral game as a whole -Stale-Move-Negation seems weaker this demo, so F-air is consistently strong, fresh or stale -U-spec has a "windbox" that knocks others away and it got more distance, so her recovery is better. Even if the Stale-Move-Negation thing is incorrect, those "small" changes and the nerfs to the top tiers greatly improve her. Btw, i didn't even cover everything

This is one of the more anticipated characters I was hoping to play as and Shiek is looking really solid. All of her aerials seem much stronger including her dair and uair. uthrow leading to solid platform chase is good or even a possible fair. All her throws are really solid.
The only thing I dislike is her teleport stopping momentum completely. I remember being able to uspec slide off and grab ledge, uspec slide away from an enemy, or even fall of the ledge for edge guards. Ofcouse losing the kill power hurt but it was pretty ridiculous the % U spec could kill at

Agree with everything. Her new nair makes her combo game waaay better, and the buffed recovery is a good thing. lol at saying she sucks because one of her moves is terrible...

So don't use that move lol
Dthrow->upsmash. You can get it with a dashing up smash, and it's a sweetspot.

Sheik seems to have been nicely buffed in this version. Forward aerial has more knockback now and down aerial is a good vertical killing move. Up aerial is easier to combo with and has K.O. potential as well. Vanish was nerfed in terms of knockback, but that's fine and the smash moves seem better for some reason. The needles don't do as much damage anymore, but they seem to have a faster charging time. All in all, Sheik feels really good in this version, along with Zelda.

Yeah btw the needles are kind of strange, sometimes I think they are fully charged yet they only do 16% Also sometimes after a kill they're completely charged in 1 sec
