Wasn't the point of Raiden, in Metal Gear Solid 2, to make Snake look better?

I only played MGS1 and MGS2.

I just like Solid Snake better and think they could have done MGS2 with him instead.

probably won't get it but I was never really a huge fan of the metal gear games to begin with

I think it came from the fact that previews for MGS2 showed Snake during the plant chapter sections. Only to have him replaced with Raiden for those parts, which is like 80% of the game. I didnt really mind it, it still felt like Metal Gear Solid to me, so it didnt matter who i was controlling.

Raiden is a much better character now though that they've turned him into a badass of sorts, instead of the puppet he used to be. I wanna see what they do to his character in this game now.

actually play the game first before you have any kind of opinion
