Radiohead's 9th studio LP will be out in two days now, (May 8th,) and I really love their 2 singles from it so far: Burn the Witch and Daydreaming. What do you think of 'em? Discuss!

Daydreaming is a fantastic track, Burn the Witch is ok. I'm looking forward to it, disappointed that they're moving away from the /bleep/y sounds they had going on TKOL and on Thom's solo albums but I expected it. I get some HTTT vibes from these tracks but with a more mature sound and attitude i think. i just hope the album isnt as inconsistent as HTTT

daydreaming video is fantastic. good lord pt anderson can nail a tracking shot like no one else working. would love to see him do more short-form music video work. his video for joanna newsom last year was also pretty great. daydreaming itself has some neat chord changes even if the repetition wears them thin. one of those radiohead tracks driven more by the layered production and arrangement than the composition which (imo) they rely way too much on. considering they can do much more than just sound good, they can compose one hell of a memorable tune. same problem with burn the witch, which has a really disappointingly bland string section imo. too many "gutwrenching" crescendos, etc. i love the measures that are centred around a repeated sharp chord and then they go and top it off with a cheap i-iv-v in the chorus. come on guys :/ i admire their marketing integrity also. when they "erased" their internet presence a week ago i half-expected them to pull some dumb attention-grabbing ARG s***. instead we just got a simple, unpretentious announcement & two completely new music videos several days later. it's also really interesting how they've neglected to reveal the title until presumably the album releases. electronic, luke. electronic.

but i like to say /bleep/y it's fun.......... but yea their electronic stuff is way more appealing to me generally i also agree about the marketing stuff, i was kind of expecting some kind of arg because everybody's doing that nowadays

Like both the tracks, but I prefer Daydreaming.
From the albums I've heard
OK Computer > Amnesiac > The Bends > Kid A
I've tried with Kid A a lot but it just doesn't click with me

This is easily one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard.
Not sure where it ranks in my favorites by them, but I know it's up there.
I've listened to it 5 times so far.

The beauty of this album really lies in it's composition and intricate piano ballads.
It's a bit slow and spacey, but after learning a lot more about music theory and piano in the past year this is one of my favorites by them.

Finally got around to AMSP, really great album liked it a lot. I'm kind of parroting everyone else but the piano ballads were great, especially the last track (even though it's been played live for 20 years).
