Yeah. On the Ray Gun, I always use it to push enemies off stage. It does need to be toned down, but I'll enjoy what we have now.

once you get hit with that and your opponent knows what to do they will keep firing no allowing you to move even while your in the air
its like being pushed repeatedly and you can't fight back test it if you want you will see

Actually it doesnt lock every character, some characters can escape after being pushed past the ledge, you have to DI downwards though, which is dangerous. Super Scope can be just as deadly however, although not having a useful locking method, you can continually fire short charged shots, each of which has a considerable amount of knockback and stun.

IMO the only item thats overpowered is the fan, as most characters become trapped in its attacks, and only a select few (mainly sonic) can escape it every time. Although, there are characters that are better at trapping with the fan than others, Zelda/Sheik for instance cannot combo as well with it, because each swing causes her to inch forward a bit.

There can be something said about each item that people dont like about it. I personally dont like how much knockback the Star Rod causes from being thrown.

I've trained my reaction time to where I can time and dodge warp stars. I'm not talking "rolling dodge", I'm talking "dodging in place". Same with the dragoon parts, I can even dodge Marth's Critical Hit by timing it correctly.

Yeah, but the guy was talking about how he likes to have items on if it's not a serious match. His point was that the Fan and Ray Gun are both so broken in Brawl that he never turns them on even when he plays with items.

The Warp Star isn't that hard to avoid and the Super Scope is honestly pretty balanced, rapid-fire weak projectiles with barely any knockback versus a high-knockback charge shot that leaves you wide open and can be avoided if the victim knows what he/she/ is doing. You have to know what you're doing in order to use it effectively same with the Warp Star as opposed to the Fan and Ray Gun which are Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 level of broken.

Was that towards me? Cause I didn't say anything about those... The Super Scope is only annoying as an edge-guarding tactic, other than that I'd just switch to lower or higher altitudes to avoid them. I've gotten out of Fan-combos dozens of times by DI, as for the Ray Gun, you should try dodge rolling towards them and time it to where you won't get hit.

No, that was toward Mei and noyk. DI doesn't kick in for Fan combos until the higher percentages and if you're hit even once with the Ray Gun, your opponent, if they know what they're doing, can capitalize on that and continue hitting you with it and you'll be pushed off the stage before the gun runs out of ammo.

Oh, my bad.

I like to play on bigger stages anyway to avoid things like that. Stages that have vertical structures I can use for cover, but yeah if someone's near the edge, they can kiss their butt goodbye. I've learned to keep my distance though if someone has a Fan, as they're also dangerous because they can almost instantly break a shield. R.I.P. Jigglypuff

Super Scope can be a useful tool even when not edgeguarding as you dont have to fully charge the shots for them to be effective. In fact i only charge them for about half a second before firing, that way you can fire more times than if you fully charge them which only gives you three shots.

I never said anything that went against his opinion. I'll admit, I use the fan and ray gun just to spam the hell out of my friends. They laugh. :v

Items are designed to be slightly overpowered. If they weren't, it's take the party mode aspect out of the game.

The operative word here is "slightly". Of course items are meant to be slightly overpowered, but the Fan and Ray Gun are game-breakingly overpowered to the point of becoming a killjoy for the other players.

But enough about broken items, next topic, please?

Really? I find it fun to use the ray gun and stuff cheaply, it makes it more fun, especially when used against me. Then I'm all like "DAMMNNNN."

Though, for a new topic, what stages would y'all would potentially expect to see? And please, let's keep all of the s*** like Naruto out of this. PLEASE? Use common sense?

Good Egg galaxy and Wuhu Island are VERY likely. I would also love to see a Paper Mario stage, and even Paper Mario himself. On that note, we need more N64 era stuff, like characters and stages. There was THREE characters in brawl that originated in a N64 game, and that was Wolf, Shiek and Ganondorf (I think). They almost completely skipped the N64 era in brawl. Paper Mario would be a great representitive for the N64 era, and a Paper Mario stage would be a great representitive for the N64 era too.
