Eh, Starlight was the best Sonic 1 zone besides Green Hill. Why did they include Oil Ocean instead of any other stage from sonic 2

also i would’ve picked hilltop zone instead of oil ocean personally

I probably would've picked Aquatic Ruin but after looking back at Sonic 2's stage list I can understand why Oil Ocean was chosen. Alot of the other stages are too thematically similar to their arguably better counterparts from other games. Also I didn't think the day would come but Whitehead made me love Oil Ocean now lmao

For the sequel to Mania mostly original levels would be preferable but if they do have to chuck in one or two old stages I'd actually like them to remake a level from the Game Gear versions of Sonic 1 and 2. I know alot of them are essentially bootleg versions of their Mega Drive counterparts but then you got s*** like Crystal Egg Zone that would look f*** glorious in 16-bit style graphics

For Mania 2 i would choose from each game:
Starlight Zone
Mystic Cave Zone
Quartz Quadrant Zone
Ice Cap Zone
Sandopolis Zone
Chaos Angel Zone
And heck a reimagining of Wood Zone would be great, considering how good Mirage Saloon turned out (which was a reimagining of Dust Hill Zone)
But besides these I would have a bunch of original levels

Man, I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates Hilltop's music.
Also I'd have loved Launch Base Zone (really just for a possible remix of those stages and high quality Go Gogo GoGoGo)
