I really enjoy discussions like this. I don't find it to be off topic at all. Sure it isn't directly related to the topic's title or main idea, but it came from a question that a user had. Nothing wrong with that really, in a topic as open as this one. Only annoying part were the fags that kept interrupting. :l

Hmm, well honestly your best bet would be to be honest about it. Probably before the dance, so she doesn't get her feelings hurt. Telling her after would pretty much be a dick move, and small things like that could easily ruin a girl's year, especially if she wears her heart on her sleeve. If she's cool she'll understand and will be okay with going as friends, she'll appreciate your honesty. Just do it before her feelings escalate too far. Hope that helps.

P.S I don't hate you at all lol. I keep my moderation and personal feelings very separate. I don't really hate anyone on this forum to be honest.

Mmkay Love Guru I've been thinking and I realized dating at such a young age (14) is useless and I shouldn't do it, when should I start dating because truly I find all the relationships at my age always shallow and boring and generally a waste of time/more/energy/etc. So when's a good age to start?

However, if you really must know, there is no specific age for successful long-term relationship seeking. You'll know you're ready when you have your own car, your own place, and a steady paycheck. But if you really just want a number, go for 27-30.

Yeah, you're right in thinking that dating at a young age, most of the time, does more harm than good. Honestly the age to start dating is different for everybody. I personally think that around 16 is a comfortable age, but most people usually start long before that. If you want a genuine relationship like you are implying though, I would start around that time. Before that, most (not all, but definitely most) premature relationships are derived from either a prepubescent dude imagining what sexual feelings might feel like, and trying to get his dick wet, or someone trying to force themselves into maturity by starting early. That's at least what I've observed.

Lol, long story short I think 16 is a comfortable age. You can start driving depending on your location, and you'll be able to have a more active relationship that doesn't only flourish during school. I would also recommend that the girl you date doesn't go to the same school as you (unless you're in college), but that's a different story I guess haha. Hope that helps.
