in mega man, plant barrier is different to leaf shield in that it can't be thrown. it's better than the leaf shield in some ways though; you throw the leaf shield by moving in the direction you want to throw it in, which obviously means you can't continue to be shielded while moving around. plant barrier stays surrounding you until it blocks an attack (only blocking one before vanishing, but looking at the picture it seems like they've given it four petals to closer imitate leaf shield).
assuming the third down special is also a shield, it'll be interesting to see which shield move they use and how they differentiate it.
-star crash is like a combination of the two, you can move with it attached OR throw it, but you can only throw it left and right instead of in all four directions.
-skull barrier is pretty much the exact same as plant barrier. can't be thrown, can be carried.
-junk shield can be thrown, but all the shield pieces fly off in random directions rather than the whole shield being launched together in a straight line.
-jewel satellite can be carried around, but only thrown left and right. same as star crash, but it's unique in that it can reflect enemy projectiles while it's active.
-water shield is the same as junk shield but with more shield pieces so it makes for a better spread attack.

I see no Bubble Shield.

-bubble shield can be carried while moving like most shields, but when you release it it goes swirling outward. Each hit causes no stun and does 2 damage per hit.
