I've seen speculations for a "fairy" type floating around.

The best theory I've heard for it so far is that it'll be the first of a heart/love type. I dunno about anyone here, but that sounds like a really fitting type to add in considering what Pokemon's been all about since day 1.

On the surface, yes. But think about it, much of the story is based around the emotional connection between you and your pokemon. Even the fact that some pokemon only evolve if they like you. It makes perfect sense to me.

Course this is without bringing in the anime or Team Plasma's little quirks.

Return could also become a heart-type move, but it still sounds like a longshot.

That sounds stupid as s***. How is that the best theory you've heard? The most likely is the flying type idea. Which wouldn't be so bad. Just another pokemon I won't go out of my way to obtain.

Its better than any theory I've heard of it being flying type. The only good theory I've heard of it not being a new type is it being normal because that's the only one it f*** looks like.

There's an almost-zero per cent chance of a new type being introduced because there's no balance problems.

Dark and Steel were only brought in because Psychic was ridiculously overpowered.

However, if I was Game Freak, I would balance Dragon type.
Steel is not enough to balance it. Still good they did create Steel in gen II.
If GF is not dumb, they'll create a type immune to Dragons... However, I think they should just give that property to an existing type.
Give it to Water types, and Dragons are dead.

But we're also talking about Game Freak. They've made some pretty retarded choices in the past.

The things they've done for the actual game mechanics have been good, though.

Special Attack/Defence split, Abilities, Natures, splitting moves into Physical and Special, etc.

Fair point. I'm just saying that my own pessimism wouldn't put it past them to make a dumb decision, even if it would be fitting in a weird way.

GF is one of the only companies that made consistently good games for his main series (portable pokémon games) throughout its history. Great games all along.
I am not talking about the design of pokémon which is only subjective taste.
When you play new main pokémon games, you see how much they care about them.
Although, retrospectively BW1 is empty when compared with BW2.
And FRLG could have been much better.

No true bad pokémon games is what I mean.
