Not to sure if someone has said this yet, but with the new Super Smash Flash mode, anyone think they could bring back Single-Button Mode from Melee? Would definitely go with each other in a similar matter to Mega and Mini, Fast and Slow, or Dramatic and Turbo.

I'm pretty sure the reason that was removed in Brawl was the introduction of characters with unique mechanics that required the special move button; most notably, Olimar, who could hardly attack at all without access to his Nspec.

In contrast, Olimar would work fine in SSF1 mode because despite most specials being gone, Nspecs are still enabled.

Didn't Single-Button mode allow for jabs, nairs, and nspecials, or was it just the former two?

Son of a b****, they're even starting to go after fan art now! That settles it. The Nintendo run by Tatsumi Kimishima is Viacom-levels of insane.

As for being at APEX, I just don't think they noticed. We probably flew under the radar because their focus was the Melee tournament.

Can you link that to me, because I seriously hope this is an early April Fools joke.

As for APEX, Nintendo probably just didn't notice, although that could easily change next time SSF2 goes there, if there is a next time. We probably dodged a bullet by skipping APEX this year.

iirc single button mode just disables the B button.

The artist I'm talking about specifically is ElPatrixF. (Warning: NSFW)
I think there might've been others, but that's the only one I know about specifically.

And the shield buttons, and X/Y (leaving Tap Jump as the only way to jump), and everything that wasn't the control stick and A-button.
It was like playing with an Atari 2600 controller.

Check out my post on how to attract people to the game. I put a lot of thought into it, and I think I have some good ideas.

Thanks, but what does this have to do with speculation?

My bad, I meant to put this in Discussion not Speculation.

Minor miscommunication. Those are definitely not confirmed for smash flash.

You can angle Chibi-Robo's Grab in SSF2 BETA
They even said so on the Dev Blogs
That means they're confirmed, right???
:chibirobo:
It's a joke, I don't even know what sama-san-chan means :chibirobo:

That's actually a good point. CR's angled grabs could at least serve to be a baseline for angled attacks later on.

And you basically just said "Your Highness/Ma'am/Buddy", which would probably get you punched in the dick no matter who you said it to. =p

I concur. Of course then we'd need to decide what attacks needed to be angled.

I don't know about that. I'd be alright with that kind of praise :smug:

EDIT: One other thing, I just saw you were a "BR Member". What does that mean?

The SSF2 Back Room is a group of users, mostly tournament players and some devs, who talk about the mechanics of the game and the tournament scene. They're the ones who put together things like the legal stage list and the official tier list.

...I kinda got in because of a fluke. I'm trying to study so that I can actually have the competence to match my title, though.

As for what attacks to decide to angle, that's usually pretty easy. It's often just attacks that are a straight strike at a single point that don't move vertically at all, like Mario and Luigi's Ftilt/Fsmash, Samus's Fsmash, etc. The purpose of angling them at all is to make up for their relatively small hitboxes.

Thanks for clearing that up. Might need to get in on that action someday :wario:

As for the angled attacks, that makes since, but let's keep in mind that with these changed, Fire Fox and Fire Bird need to have full 360-degree angles as well. If its possible, that is.

Fox and Falco having a full 360-degree in their Up-B is fully plausible in my opinion, it's not like they have to make a new sprite for every angle.
