Hm, if you look at her like that her inclusion kinda makes sense. I mean, a lot of people don't play Marth because he's a really difficult character to control, adding a more accessible version of his moveset (without habing to dumb Marth himself down) might strike a stronger chord with a larger amount of people.

Added a new poll! I was sorta curious about the general feelings of the forum regarding the new FE:A reps.

Gotta mention it though; anyone remember how they had those trophy quizzes in the Smash Direct? The trophies shown had characters from the Zelda, Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus and Metroid series. Since, the Zelda series had a 'new' character slot in the form of Sheik as a seperate character, Kid Icarus got Palutena and Fire Emblem has now received 2 newcomers as well.

It's all good, I'll just alternate between using Marth and Lucina. I'll probably main all the Fire Emblem characters depending on how well Robin plays.

Not really sure how I feel about today's PoTD. I personally think FE deserves 4 reps, but should one of them really be a glorified clone? If the answer to that is yes, take back Lucina and give me Roy.

And if we are calling Sheik a new Zelda rep, then Metroid already got a new rep as well, ZSS.

Think of it like a glorified alt instead. Like if sweatshirt Mac got his own slot on the select screen. Characters like this probably take next to no time to create and require very little extra balance. They aren't eating up development time, I promise you. It'd probably take longer to make an assist trophy than one of these characters.

That actually sounds worse than it needs to be. I think glorified clone sounds better, in my opinion.

Lucina is a clone, yes. However, the adjustments made to each character (even by the smallest) are what sets them apart. Lucina's damage is more balanced throughout her weapon meaning she doesn't have to space consistently to get the most of her damage input. She also could potentially have a different final smash from that of Marth too so that's also a change.

Sakurai mentioned she is a clone but there's probably a few minor tweaks he left in-between we didn't see yet that possibly makes a difference from the two.

Isn't she just a clone, not a glorified clone? Most clones have minor differences that set them apart.
