I was watching tv in the living room(tv was near the windows) and my mom told me to go to my room to do my homework. I got up to go to my room and all of a sudden, lightening struck the corner of the tv which was where I was sitting.

Ehh... I'm having difficulty recalling any memories in detail, but I seem to remember slipping off a rock structure on a family trip years ago. I caught myself, but it was a decent fall before I had. However, not even sure if this actually happened. I have difficulty differentiating dreams from old memories, you know.

When I was like, five, I choked on and swallowed two quarters. It was scary as hell as a five year old, but now, it kinda feels good to know that I am now worth fifty cents more. But that's as close as I ever got to actually dying.

How did you get such a current through your body, though? I mean, 10 Amps is not something that is just very dangerous, it should kill you rather quickly (unless it was a parallel circuit: if you grab an electrical wire with a current going through it at two locations, usually most of the current will continue to pass through the wire).

Hmm, it sounds like it could have been a parallel circuit, which means most of the current went through the wire because your skin has a high resistance, about 100,000 Ohms, and that probably saved you. Good thing you weren't sweaty, because a wet skin only has a resistance of 1,000 Ohms and with salts dissolved in it it gets even worse and that would have very likely been lethal.

Probably even less, unless Australian electrical wires have a rather high resistance (they are usually made to be negligible over short distances), but that would also depend on other things.
