So you hate the entire game because they added an optional mode for people who are bad at video games?

Don't use it, they're not forcing you.

If you feel the game is becoming too much of a challenge you can switch between Classic, Casual and Phoenix. It's nice to have the option.

When Awakening was easy as f*** even without casual mode, you take an even more casual mode as a warning sign "hurr you don't have to use it" doesn't mean a f*** thing. "hurr you don't have to use it" doesn't mean it doesn't impact the rest of the game

I dont know, I always felt that this way of thinking about features like that was pretty silly. At the same time, I think I might understand why.

It's also emblematic (pardon the pun) of assholes who complain about having too much gameplay in games
It's like Mass Effect 3 and the "story mode" difficulty that made the entire game effortless because some people thought actually playing the game got in the way of the story
Like
If the easiest difficulty is too much for you, get the f*** away from this hobby and watch a movie or something

I always felt "let them have their easier than easy difficulties" If thats what it takes for them to have fun with the game then so be it. As long as the harder difficulties arent made easier as well, it shouldnt be a thing to complain about.

If that's what it takes for them to have fun with the game then they can get the f*** away from video games forever
Like really
If anyone had trouble with Awakening on casual mode, they must be f*** braindead or something

Yeah, I get it and all. I really felt like I should have picked casual mode when I played through Awakening though as it just led to a lot of resets due to me not wanting to lose my good units. It was also my first Fire Emblem game so, I had a reason to play the easiest difficulty. If I get a chance to play this next one I just may play on a higher difficulty this time around. It can sort of serve as a nice way to get into the series for the first time, which is what the easy modes were intended for I think. I think it sounds a bit unfair to say they shouldnt be allowed to play something that they cant play without an easy mode. For many first time players, thats the only mode they can do (especially without ragequitting). I will take a neutral stance on it though. I do understand its intentions, but at the same time, they do get a bit too ridiculous at times.

it's like reverse power creeping, pokemon has the opposite issue pokemon powercreep timeline: show in pokemon, things weren't too bad for the first two gens. legendaries were certainly a cut above the rest (especially gen 1 mewtwo) but it wasn't anything WAY out there then gen 3 comes along and there's rayquaza. it's not bad, really, but it's more powerful than what we got. this is just the start of the power creep and then gen 4 has palkia and dialga who are both really really good too, and even arceus who got the power creep in motion then gen 5 had new forms for kyurem which did nothing but benefit it a lot. kyurem wasn't that powerful anyways even with the new forms, but it's certainly trying to top rayquaza and the gen 4 stuff. then gen 6 has mega evolutions, including some really broken ones like mega gengar, mega khang, and mega mewtwo x/y. and then finally, ORAS comes along which puts Mega Rayquaza in its own f*** tier PAST the banlist. now with FE, we might outright lose the option to have permadeath eventually. in sacred stones, you have the overworld which allowed you to grind, as well as promotion trees (this isn't really part of it, but it helps kick-start a later part) in shadow dragon, we had backup units and gaiden chapters that opened up when your number of units hit a low number, and you can freely change your units' classes (again, not a part of it, but it's setting a later one in motion...) in new mystery of the emblem, we have the first appearance of casual mode in awakening, we have the weight limit removed (which makes nosferatu hilariously broken), and pair up (which also breaks the game and makes doing chapters with only chrom/robin the best way to go). not to mention grinding returns, as well as infinite promoting so you can max out your stats (which probably started with promotion trees). it also removed any sort of tree with the magic, almost entirely removed magic as a whole, and removed a lot of chapter types like survive or escape. now, weapon limit is removed (while it does have some benefits, it's still removing something that could be there anyways. the weapons could be balanced with both perks AND weapon usage), and we have casual mode and casual-er mode. i know they fixed some of the issues FEA had, but even then, with a few good buffs/nerfs comes a few more things headed our way that don't give any positive vibes. at least the weapon limit is replaced as opposed to just removing weapon limits and removing ALL depth from weapons. not that the weapon limit was incredibly deep in the first place.

Speaking of FE:A, I just beat lunatic mode yesterday. I'm now playing the final DLC Map.
Did anyone manage to play Lunatic+ mode btw? How hard is it compared to Lunatic? I stupidly spoiled myself to the skills that are used in lunatic+ when looking up a DLC map playthrough, so I know some skills that be there, but not all of them, so is there others to be worried about?
Also, I was playing on trying sacred stones, holy war, and thracia 776. Are those any good?
I know that isn't a general FE topic, but I don't see anywhere else to post and I don't wanna start a topic just to ask this.

lunatic+ is an even bigger fight with the RNG you just keep resetting until the enemy layout looks how you want it to holy war is considered one of the best FE games out there so knives. they're hidden. literally.
